First Orcs, Then a Dragon

Elena's POV

We finally found the pig pens and Bofur trips. He sits up holding a plant. "Is this it?" he asks showing it to me.

"Sure is" I tell him smiling. "Grab as much as you can and lets get back to the others" I tell him. He nods his head and starts to gather the kingsfoil. We then start to head back to the house as the sun sets. I smell orcs and stop.

"Why'd you stop?" Bofur asks me confused.

"You need to run, towards the house and not look back" I tell him.

"What?" he says.

"Do it, run now!" I shout and turn drawing my sword blocking an orcs blade. Bofur runs as I start to fight the orc. Another two join the fight and I fight them single handedly. I hear Bofur scream and the sound of another fight starting. I knew I had to end this quick. I push the orcs back and behead one. I grab it's sword and us it to kill another. Then stab the last one in the heart. I drop the orc blade and run to where Bofur had gone.

I find him fighting an orc and I was just about to help. When he killed it, himself. "Lets get back to the others, they may need help" I tell him.

"Yes, lets" he says while breathing heavily.

"Still got the kingsfoil?" I ask him and he nods his head. We run back to the house. To see Orcs fleeing it and Legolas exit the house. Bofur enters it as I approach Legolas. "Thank you, for protecting them. Take care" I tell him and go inside. To see Tauriel take the Kingsfoil from Bofur.

"What are you doing?" Bofur asks her curious.

"I'm going to save him" she declares. I smile and check on Bard's children. They are shaken up, but otherwise unharmed. Fili, Bofur, and Oin carry Kili to the table. And lay him on it. As Tauriel prepares the Kingsfoil. "Hold him down" she tells us. We do so as she examines his wound.

Then holding the Kingsfoil in her hands she recites an elf incantation and applies it to Kili's wound. He screams in pain and Sigrid goes to help hold him down. "Tilda!" she shouts and Tilda comes over to help hold him down also. Tauriel continues her incantation Kili begins to calm down and he looks up at Tauriel.

Tauriel dresses Kili's wound as we slowly release him. "I've heard tale of the wonders of elvish medicine. That was a privilege to witness" Oin says. Kili looks deliriously at Tauriel and calls her name.

"Lie still" she tells him.

"You cannot be her. She is far away. She...she is far, far away from me. She walks in starlight in another world. It was just a dream" he says and touches her hand. "Do you think she could've loved me?" he asks her. She looks at him, not knowing what to say. I decide to go outside and look up at the clear night sky. Wondering if Beorn is looking up at the stars right now.

I hear a loud roar and look up to see Smaug heading straight for us. For Lake-town. I run back into the house. "We have to leave right now, Smaug is coming" I tell them. "Fili, Bofur help Kili" I instruct.

"Come on, brother. Lets go" Fili tells Kili as he helps him up.

"I'm fine, I can walk" Kili grumbles.

"As fast as you can" Tauriel tells the children.

"We're not leaving, not without our father" Bain states.

"If you stay here, your sisters will die. Is that what your father would want?" I ask him. He shakes his head and we leave the house. We find Bard's barge and climb aboard. I untie it from the dock and we set off. Smaug flies down and starts attacking the town.

"Keep you heads down" I tell the children. Smaug continues his reign of terror on the town by breathing fire everywhere he flies. I hear a child's cry and look up. To see two children trapped by fire. "Tauriel, get them out of here" I tell her and jump off of the barge into the water. I swim to the dock and run to the children. Jumping over the flames.

"Please help us" the little boy says as he holds his little sister.

"Don't worry, you're going to make it" I tell him. I rip a piece of my shirt and rip it in half. "Breath through these" I instruct handing it to them. They do so. "Ok, I'm gonna turn and you are both gonna get onto my back. Hold on tight and don't let go until I stop" I tell them. They nods their heads and I turn into a panther. They look scared, but I lay down pointing to my back.

The boy puts his sister on my back first and gets on behind her. They hold on tight and I jump over the flames. I run through the burning town, dodging falling deprise. I jump into the water and start to swim following the boats. I hear a roar of pain and look up to fall from the sky with a black arrow in his heart. He's dead, it's over. The dwarves have their home back, the quest is over.

I swim to shore to see people rowing ashore. The two children hop off and I shake my body. Trying to get rid of as much water as possible. "Ella, Byron!" a woman shouts and rushes over.

"Mummy!" they shout and hug her. "She saved us, big cat save us" they tell her and look at me.

"Thank you, thank you for saving my children" the woman says. I bow my head and leave them. I track the company down and approach them.

"There you are, we were about to leave without you" Bofur tells me. I jump into the boat as Kili says goodbye to Tauriel. Legolas arrived and Tauriel left with him. Kili boards the boat and we set off for the mountain.
