T H I R T E E N

I sighed as I stared at my chemistry homework that I didn't understand, not that I could even focus on it.

My mind was somewhere far away.

My mind was on Zack.

I didn't know after what happened a few nights ago where we stood.

I didn't know if I was ready to let him back in my life again or I just wanted to stay friends for awhile.

What did he want? I didn't even consider that.

"Hey, I brought you your favorite! Chocolate shake!" The door opened to reveal a smiling Kelly.

"Thanks kels" I said.

"The least I could do, I stopped by after my class" she laughed. "So how's homework coming?"

"Eh, I can't really focus" I say taking a sip from the shake.

"Yeah" she sighs.

"Well if it makes you feel any better we're getting take out tonight on Zack" she says.

"Ooh what are we getting?" I ask.

"Pizza" she says.

"My favorite" I laugh and she laughs.

"Well I'm gonna go watch some tv, catch you later?" She asks.

"Yep!" I say.

I looked back down at my work and continued to try and understand it, useless.

I sighed and looked up as I heard the door creek open, it revealed Zack.

"Hey, you busy?" He asked.

"Not particularly" I said.

I pushed some stuff over on my bed so he could sit.

"I wanted to talk to you, you know about the other night" he said.

"Yeah" I nodded.

He sighed and sat there for a second.

"I know you probably won't ever forgive me for what I did or have done and I understand that" he said. "But I really do love you, I mean that"

I bit my lip and pulled my knees to my chest.

"Zack" I started "I really really wanna forgive you"

He had hope in his eyes.

"But right now, I don't wanna focus on a relationship or making anything more complicated then it already is" I said.

"Oh" he said.

"And I'm also really thankful that you were there for me the other night." I said and he smiled.

"Can we still be friends?" Zack asked.

"Of course" I whispered.

We both stood up at the same time.

We smiled at eachother and he opened his arms up.

I went into them and laid my head on his chest.

He wrapped his strong arms around me and I wrapped mine around him.

"Friends"

"Forever"
