Lorelai: (sees puppies and runs over there) puppies!
Rory: what?! That's not a disease.
Blair: (runs after Lorelai) oh, boy.
Lorelai: (talking to the dog) Hi! Hi! Oh, Hi! (Walks to another dog) Girls, look at the baby!
Rory: (annoyed) mom....
Lorelai: Aw.... 'Buttercup was found, cold and wet, hovering under a hydrangea bush along highway 26!' It's a sad Highway!
Rory: As compared to all the happy highways he could've been abandoned by.
Lorelai: 'Her lineage includes cocker spaniel, golden retriever, bouvier des flandres....'
Blair: Gesundheit.
Lorelai: Thank you. And Rottweiler.
Rory: 'Buttercup is a special dog. She is extremely skittish and tends to react badly toward blond hair females, brunette males, children of either sex, other animals, red clothing, cabbage or anyone in a uniform.'
Blair: Ahh!! I don't want this dog anymore!!!
Lorelai: (Luke walks up to them) Hey, we just found the dog version of you.
Dog owner: (talking to Luke) can I help you?
Luke: Do not let these three anywhere near a dog. They can barely feed themselves.
Lorelai: shut up you we would be excellent pet owners, thank you.
Blair: You cannot be serious?
Lorelai: we can get him a pretty bowl.
Blair: It's a her!
Lorelai: and a new name.
Rory: Mom.
Lorelai: This buttercup thing has to go.
Rory: Do we really need to remind you of skippy.
Luke: Skippy?
Lorelai: I can't believe you brought up Skippy.
Blair: Skippy was our Hamster.
Lorelai: He doesn't care.
Luke: what happened to Skippy?
Lorelai: Nothing.
Rory: Every mom put her hand in his cage, he bite her.
Lorelai: And laugh!
Luke: Hamsters can't laugh.
Lorelai: oh this one can laugh trust me.
Rory: so she got fed up.
Luke: From being laughed at by hamster?
Lorelai: well, yeah.
Rory: she stopped cleaning its cage and instead she put Kleenex in there.
Luke: you didn't.
Lorelai: ( smiling) it was the quilted kind.
Rory: And the cage is just a cage full of Kleenex that moves a little.
Blair: And the smell? Really good.
Luke: I can imagine.
Lorelai: oh, no, you can't
Rory: so she takes the cage to the place we brought him, and has Blair who was under the age of 5, distracted the sales merchant so she could dump it on the desk and bolts.
Luke: You use your child to abandon your hamster?
Lorelai: Look I know is was bad, but this was a vicious hamster.......Bye Bye buttercup. Bye Luke.
Blair: Good job mom.
Rory: you did the right thing.
Lorelai: ugh. I want a pet.
Rory: that's why you have us.

Friday night dinner, only Emily is there.
Emily: How's the Squab?
Rory and Blair: it's good.
Emily: Lorelai?
Lorelai: Its the best tiny little weird bird I eaten.
Emily: (smiling😈) I'm glad.
Lorelai: Why are you smiling like that?
Emily: (smiling😈) what?
Lorelai: you're smiling.
Emily: I'm happy.
Lorelai: Well, that's not your 'I'm happy smile'.
Emily: What smile is it, Lorelai.
Lorelai: that's your 'I've got something on Lorelai" smile.
Emily: Girls, your mother must be very tried.
Rory: She works a lot.
Lorelai: I grew up with the smile. I know that smile.
Emily: Girls, tell me about schools.
Blair: Well, My class too the first part of the Prepre-sat and I think I did well Rory helped a lot.
Rory: yeah, it was hard help her study. Also my French exam went really well.
Lorelai: You can change the subject, I know the smile.
Emily: whatever you say dear.
Lorelai: (smiling😈) I used it a few times myself.
Rory: mom....
Emily: So tell me about Parents day.
Lorelai: what?
Emily: parents day next Wednesday. When all the parents go to the classes for your children all day long.
Lorelai: The chilton news letter came out today!
Blair: yeah!
Emily: you didn't read yours?
Lorelai: Not yet. But you knew that.
Emily: well...
Lorelai: Hence the smile.
Emily: Lorelai, you're really being silly. There is no evil plan afoot here. I simply brought up a topic we could all talk about.
Lorelai: Oh, right.
Emily: I'll try another subject, the color blue is really pleasant.
Lorelai: Mom, not everybody can wait outside the mailbox for the chilton newsletter to arrive. Then instantly memorize the contents.
Rory: I like to weigh in on the blue color subject.
Blair: Me too. I think that blue is a beautiful color.
Emily: (Lorelai huffs) you have your priorities. Far be it from me to question them.
Lorelai: Just because I don't read the news letter, doesn't mean I don't care about my daughters! (Looks sweetly at Rory and Blair)
Emily: so are you going?
Lorelai: to what?
Emily: parents day.
Lorelai: why don't we talk about next Friday when I actually read the newsletter?
Emily: We could. Except parents day is next Wednesday.
Lorelai: Wednesday?
Blair: yeah.
Emily: If you'd waited til next Friday, you would've missed it.
Lorelai: Wednesday, huh?
Blair: It's okay, mom. you don't have to be there.
Emily: I guess we can talk about how you missed it though.
Lorelai: I won't miss it.
Rory: Mom it's okay you'll be busy.
Emily: you know what? I'll go.
Lorelai: what?
Emily: why not you have work. I, as you have informed have no life. Therefore will go sit with Rory and Blair for parents day.
Lorelai: I'm not busy. I'm going. I will be there. That's it. End of story, ok?
Emily: fine.
