Henry and William launched a new chain in 1987: 'Freddy Fazbear's Pizza'. William built the animatronics, installing a facial recognition software that can 'identify criminals'. Since this technology would not have existed in '87, it is more likely that he programmed the animatronics to kill unsuspecting customers, or, more specifically, night guards. The first night guard was killed, and the restaurant attempted to cover it up, saying he moved to day shift. The next night guard was Jeremy Fitzgerald, who wasn't majorly important, but was mentioned in 'VR: Help Wanted'.
Meanwhile William murdered five children (Give Gifts minigame). The Puppet (possessed by the first murdered child) hid them in the animatronic suits, where their bodies stayed. The disappearance of these children led to the closing of the chain, and the newer animatronics were thrown out. However, the older animatronics were upgraded for the future version of the restaurant.
