The Count remained fixed in his standing position for what seemed like hours even though it was only five minutes. His eyes were blank and unblinking and his lips were set in a straight line. What had happened to him?

Azira was growing really frustrated at the lack of response from the man for usually, he had answers to everything that came out of her mouth. Then, why was he muted now? Why was he so silent all of a sudden?

"Look Dracula, if you think that this is funny, then I'd suggest you to think twice, dearest Count. Just stop this and say something dammit!" She snapped irritatingly.

She ran a hand through her dark brown locks which were floating loosely in the gentle breeze as her patience was wearing out really fast and she knew that if he still didn't move, there would be a disaster.

She let out a sigh and closed her eyes, breathing in a huge gulf of fresh air but instead of a pure and odorless air, the strong metallic smell of iron teased her nostrils: blood. Someone was bleeding around her and if she didn't find the bleeder, her vampire subjects would lose their self-control.

Azira followed the scent but when she finally found its source, her eyes almost bulged out of their sockets and a shocked gasp left her mouth. Out of all people, she hadn't expected that individual to be the one whose blood was oozing out of: Dracula.

The smell of blood came from him as it was much stronger around him. He was bleeding right before her very eyes and she didn't have any clue about it. How was that even possible for a strong-looking vampire Count like him to lose his own blood?

She circled around his body and came to a halt behind his back. Piercing a hole through his outfit was a sharp arrow that tore his skin, allowing the blood leakage, and it was coated with a dark liquid. She gently pulled it out, her hand burning in the process, and the pungent smell of the liquid was hint enough for any vampire to recognize it: witch blood. Someone had used the mini spear-like stick to inject the deadly substance into his system and if he didn't get immediate treatment, it would eat out his insides before death consumed him.

Witch blood was considered as deadly fatal to a vampire for it rendered the creature weak as it burned the latter's insides, eventually draining the life out of them. She had come to that conclusion when one of her vampires had withered because of it and since then, witches were forbidden from setting foot in Aziris as witch blood was synonymous to poison for a vampire.

Azira tossed away the arrow as Dracula's body slumped to the ground but luckily, she caught hold of him before his body was smeared with dirt and soil. An electric spark coursed through her veins as her skin brushed against his but she decided not to dwell on it and focused more on saving him.

'Alexa.' She summoned.

The now-healed young lady instantly showed up, thanks to her inhumane speed.

"Azira, what happened to him?" She asked as her blue orbs trailed over the now pale-looking Count.

"Get me Athena. Now!" She ordered, tightening her grip on him.

Nodding in response, Alexa rushed inside the castle to find the said person and was back to her sire in a matter of seconds.

"Athena, he needs help and fast! I won't be able to keep a hold on him for too long." Azira said to the woman.

Despite banning witches from Aziris, Azira made an exception for Athena for the latter was a white witch and such types of individuals used their powers, which was pure and untainted, to do good around them.

The lady nodded in response even though she wanted to know why she should help a stranger in the first place when his own people had turned Aziris upside-down and requested the vampiress to bring him into the castle.
