JOEY

The following is not edited.

It's been 3 months since me and Jada got out the hospital. Every now and then, Jada has these moments when she just goes crazy. But it's gotten better. Although, the community is getting worse. The Programmers killed about half of the people already getting the chips out of them. I sent some of my boys under cover to see what was going on. Turns out, they are trying to start the community over.

So, it was my job to hire some people to teach her self defense. I was going to teach her how to use a gun, but that usually backfires with children.

I was now in office observing the chip Linda took out of me, figuring out how they put out together. I was already frustrated because I wasn't a big science person. So, I finished that up.

10 minutes later

"Joe, I'm going to the store!" Jada called out from the living room.

"You can't" I said

"Why?"

"Did you hear the news, their killing everyone. "

At that time, she came in my office and sat down. "What's even happening out there?" She asked.

I stared at her for a moment, and then started talking. "Come over here." I said motioning her over to my lab. I opened up my laptop and showed her a picture of the flashdrive.

"What's this?" she asked.

"This is what the programmers use to program people. They keep their codes, and data on here. Without that, they can't program anyone anymore. So.. our job is hack into their computer system, and clear everything, under a anonymous name." She gave me an 'ohhh' face.

"So.. what's the chip then?" she asked curiously.

"The chip is what they inject in you. They transfer everything from the flashdrive to the chip, and when you are born, they inject it into you."  Then, I took her over to my desk again, and showed her the chip. She observed it for a few minutes, then spoke up. "Instead of hacking, lets just go to the building." she mumbled. I actually liked that idea. But the problem was, I've lost a lot of people. The magoraty of the people who worked for me were programmed, and now their dead. So, the people I have now, have to be more advanced in order to break in the office. "I'll think about it." I said.

She gave me a nod, and went to her room. After that the door bell rang. I sighed, and got up from my chair, walked to the front door, and opened it.

"Cargo?"

Hey guys! I know most of my chapters are short, and this is one is short too. I'll try to extend it!

I'm so sorry it took me so long to update! I had troubles trying to update on my phone.

Also, if you haven't checked out the preview of my new book "The Special Key" please do!

It's coming to Wattpad soon!

Also, I'm going to start updating more often using a little schedule I'm going to be setting up. The following is the schedule.

THE PROGRAMMERS - Tuesdays & Fridays (Possibly Thursdays or Wednesdays sometimes)

The Speical Key- Wednesdays & Saturdays (Possibly Mondays or Thurdays sometimes)

It just keeps me organized :)

This chapter is mainly for the understanding of the whole story.
