Luke knew that what was happening between him and Ashton was wrong. It was a messed up situation, and it wasn't anywhere near healthy or morally right.
That's why he broke off—whatever it was—with him.
He was heartbroken and he knew that Ashton was too. It wasn't like he didn't see him around. They saw each other consistently, since their schedules and lives were basically in sync.
Everytime he sees his sad, hazel eyes there's nothing more that he wants to do other than run up to him and hug him as his tears come strolling down.
But he knew that he couldn't.
It wouldn't be right. This was the reason why he broke it off with him, and he wasn't going to go back to committing those lies and be in a relationship that had to be hidden.
