KYLO RENS POV :)

(This is kind of just a recap but there are things you should see from his POV)

Something about That nurse set off alarm bells in my head, she was so familiar and yet a stranger to me. After waking up in the medbay I had managed to open my eyes enough to see the room I was in but i stayed stagnant to avoid alerting the her, she sat in the corner with piles of paperwork on her lap.

She had chocolate brown hair that tumbled down to her collar bone, and soft fluffy bangs that framed her face. I couldn't see the color of her eyes but they were staring angrily at the papers in her lap.

I watched cautiously trying time avoid catching her attention. She sighed massaging her hand and flexing her fingers before returning it to the pen in her lap, she looked at the pen as if waiting for something to happen. She let it rest on the paper again before raising her hand over it and moving her fingers as if asking it to obey her will. To my surprise the pen obeyed and started swirling around dancing over the papers that remained in her lap. I lay in the bed awestruck, how had I been so blind to another force user on the ship?

There was an abrupt bang outside of my room which caused the pen to clatter to the ground. I saw my opportunity to rise from my position without alerting her to the fact that I was awake moments before. I let out a small groan as I tried to push myself into an upright position in the midst of my pain. Even though I knew where I was I still wasn't sure exactly how I ended up in this position. " what happened." I groaned

She dropped her papers and rushed to my bed side, her face shone with concern. "Oh, um well Lord Ren in your last expedition you got severely injured. I don't know the details as to how or what happened after but, You were brought back to the base and I was the nurse designated to treat you." She stammered.

Now that she was closer I could get a better look at her face, her lips were a soft rosy color and so were her cheeks, she had a small scar along the arch of her left eyebrow and subtle amount of freckles peppered along the bridge of her nose, her eyes shone brightly with emotion, fear. Even from a closer proximity her eye color was still a mystery, at first glance they seemed brown but they reflected color magnificently. I caught the occasional glimpse of green, yellow, and orange reflecting from her irises.

Her eyes reminded of I planet I had visited once in my youth, with seasons and trees that shifted year round, I had arrived near the end of what they would call Autumn, In this period of time the leaves on certain trees would shrivel into a melody of reds, oranges, yellows, and browns, while other trees would remain green. By the end of the season, when I had arrived, the majority of the leaves had fallen leaving bare stalks. Staring into her eyes felt like staring across a horizon of those trees, a majority of brown but every so often you would catch a leaf or two left with hints of oranges and warmth on a tree and there was the green trees, evergreens, that were strategically scattered throughout which created more color contrast. It was beautiful, mesmerizing. Her eyes raked across my face looking for something, pain?

"What's your name" I said softly

"Reyna."

"Reyna." I repeated, what a lovely name for a lovely young girl. I looked back up at her to see her cheeks growing red, "So Reyna, how long exactly am I stuck in this med bay?"

"I'd say about a week or two, depends on if you listen to me or not." She said shooting me a sly smile. She was adorable when she smiled.

I let out a soft chuckle, "anything to get me out of here" I winced at my movement but kept my eyes trained on her. "I suppose I am known to be quite stubborn, I can't promise anything." I smiled again but deep down I knew I would have to cooperate, I can't laugh without pain what makes me think I can waltz out of the medbay without her help.

"For the next couple of days I'm going to need to change your bandages and clean your wounds every couple of hours. As the days pass I'll be able to start doing it less frequently but when the wounds are this fresh they need constant attention to avoid infection. Once they have started to close the risk of infection decreases which means I don't have to be as worried about a bacteria build up on the bandage affecting you." She said, turning to a medicine cabinet. I couldn't help but stare, seeing her body in its entirety was mesmerizing, her scrubs hugged each curve just right. I couldn't help but follow her with my eyes.

She turned to me from across the room, "is there something you need?" She asked with another grin. She was amused by my affection.

"Not necessarily," I said still eyeing her "I guess I'm just... interested in you."

"Interested in me?" She looked genuinely surprised "that's a new one." She muttered under her breathe, barely audible.

"Why does that surprise you?"

"I guess I'm used to blending into the crowd, I'm not used to being noticed by anyone... especially of your status." She huffed

"My status?" I retorted, I guess it was unusual for someone this high in the chain of command to favor in her position but I wouldn't stop me from pursuing her.

She laughed softly turning back to face me one more. "what I'm saying is, you are the commander of the First Order, leader of the Knights of Ren, and practically a god within the first order... and what am I?"

I took a second considering her question, how was I supposed to answer that? "A medic?"

"A medic." She confirmed "I'm a medic, bottom of the pecking order, slave to the First Order."

Well, when you put it that way it just sounds depressing. "I suppose so... but that doesn't mean I can't still be interested in you. Please, tell me about yourself. It's not like I can go anywhere." I looked at her pitifully. She made a face and let out a sigh before pulling a chair over to my bedside.

"What do you want to know?"

I asked her past and I could see her hesitance but she soon agreed. I watched her curiously, something about her still didn't sit right with me, along with the fact that I had seen her using the force. I needed answers.

We had a brief conversation I was already intrigued by her, she was kind unlike the many people I worked with in the starship. Once she started opening up to me I could feeling a tugging sensation in the back of my head. Something from the memories of my childhood, what I had worked so hard to suppress, was desperately trying to show itself. Something about this girl....

I continued to ask about her questions and I could see her getting emotional, when I finally asked about the earliest parts of her childhood I could feel the spike of fear within her, I watched her body tense and breathing become a labored. To my dismay and her relief another patient in the infirmary was in labor and she was rushed out to help with the delivery, she turned to me one last time before leaving the room.  "Are you going to be ok while I'm gone?"

"I guess so" I replied solemnly. I could feel myself getting close to the answer I needed and the opportunity was ripped away at the last second. What about her past was so frightful and why was she triggering such a response from me? I could still feel the tugging sensation in the back of my head, what was it trying to tell me?
