A New Beginning

Said my goodbyes and rushed out the door

Just like any other time

Started it up to begin my trip

Looking at the house as it fell behind

A long way to go with a short time to get there

Anxious nerves begin to arise

As I end up in the middle of nowhere

With all these hell screaming skies

A new life awaits

A new beginning begins

Forgetting what passed

The ways I have sinned

A new tomorrow

A new start at life

In a whole new world

So much hope in sight

Twenty seven miles later

Down that one curvy road

Rain was pouring hard

And that truck had a big load

It passed the stop sign

With what seemed like no care

And out of no where it hit me

All I could do was sit and stare

Tumbling off into the darkness

As I wait for someone to get there

A new life awaits

A new beginning begins

Forgetting what passed

The ways I have sinned

A new tomorrow

A new start at life

In a whole new world

So much hope in sight

I see flashing lights

As I open my eyes

Several different people

Standing at my sides

But why are they here

I wondered to myself

Then up came the pain

As I feared for my health

Began drifting off into the darkness again

Sinking down in my seat

Following the light

That seemed to always win

A new life awaits

A new beginning begins

Forgetting what passed

The ways I have sinned

A new tomorrow

A new start at life

In a whole new world

So much hope in sight

It feels just right
