The last year of school at Amun Academic Boarding School had arrived and for many, including Abigail-River Lawrence, it was a year she'd been waiting for. Sure it was bittersweet thinking that it was the last year she'd be spending with her friends, but she was eager to leave. After everything that happened last year, Anubis House was a place she found comfort in, but also much pain too. River was excited to spend her last year of high school with her best friends/roommates, Amber Millington and Nina Martin. She was excited to spend one last year of pranking innocent fools with her best friends, Jerome Clarke and Alfie Lewis. She was excited to spend a whole year without worrying about if any evil relatives would come after her and her friends and kill them, or worrying about an ancient mystery. Because all that stuff had been buried in the past.

However, River realized that she had set her expectations way too high when the school year started. With a new and mysterious teacher arriving, unexpected news of one of her friends not returning, and new students joining Anubis House, River had a feeling that this year wouldn't be one she imagined. Especially when a new American girl joins Anubis House, and, as always with Americans, she had a secret up her sleeve. But for some reason, this girl was intrigued by River and River didn't know why. With a new mystery on the hands of Sibuna, new Sibuna's joint the club, old members leaving and possible feelings River would be facing, she was in for one heck of a ride for her last year of high school.

thought the title of this book was fitting considering the main plot of season three lol. i am so excited for season three !! ngl this season scared the shit out of me when i first watched it as a kid, so its gonna be fun writing the eerie scenes and shit. get ready to see river experiencing feelings for another human being (yes ik i did not see that coming), and some near-death experiences river and sibuna encounter hahaha
