Winter night...The Xiao's second estate awakened by bone-jarring sounds that arose from the bedroom of a thirteen year old young master...Me. I kept on shouting at my father and hurled inanimate objects on walls that invisibly caving me in. Our servants ran to us, beckoned by intuition to battle whatever force had elicited the rumpus. It was apparent to their frantic and worried faces that they didn't understand this sort of disturbance.

"Sir..." A butler tried to advance my dad but he prevented him.

"Leave us and don't come here until I say so." He commanded and they bowed submitting to him.

When the helpers departed, my dad aimed his advertence to me again. "Xiao Zhan, why are you behaving like that? It's two in the morning please get some sleep."

"I need to know why!!! Why didn't you let me mourn for my Lao Lao?! Why did you hide it from me that she died a week after I moved here in Beijing with you? Dad, I am eight back then!!! I could have understood it if you disclose it to me but you did nothing!!!" Cold perspiration broke out from my body and there were tears trickled out from my eyes every time I blinked. "For six years you made me believe that she was still alive and whenever I plead to you to call or see her, you formed an excuse. I did all that you want yet you lied!!!"

"How did you know?" He spurned the homicidal defiant stares that emanated from me.

"Grandma dropped in today; she spilled the beans and my role in this family. Never disappoint her or I'll bid adieu to your company as the heir. She shouldn't worry too much, I won't fail her. I'll do whatever it takes for her to accept me as her grandson and to attest that I am qualified to be the next CEO of your corp."

My father crossed the room and held one hand on my shoulder. "Zhan, I'm sorry about your Lao Lao's death... I hid it from you because that was what she preferred for me to do; she knew too well that you would react like this so we agreed to veil it up from you."

"No dad, you didn't cover it but bury it with her. You do not intend to talk it out with me!"

"She had a malevolent brain tumor, Zhan, an incurable disease. In that month of your eighth birthday, she saw what's coming to her, she had to go." The corners of his eyebrows slanted upward, "She asked me to take you in. My son, I did that because I love you..."

"Oh yeah? You are a liar, dad." I expectorated the febrile animosity in me. "If you love me, you won't trick me!!! AND I NEVER ASKED YOU TO CARE!!!"

"I'm so sorry, Xiao Zhan..." My father dwelt in a short reticence to garner his forbearance, "I promise you, I won't do that again. I am here...and your grandma..."

"Bullshit! Don't you see it? She doesn't want me to be in this family! I am the only one who can't enter the main estate because of her abhor on me; the old woman disdained me! SHE HATED ME!!! But I'll change what she thinks!!! I'll make her acknowledge that it's imprecise to hate me! Get out, dad!!!" The feeling of the pulsing veins on my neck whittled satisfaction inside me.

Two months later, my dad and other individuals in our mansion including my private teachers and instructors ploddingly detected the alteration of my attitude and personality, there were days that I experienced intense sadness from minor difficulty in my studies, desolation without explanations, exhaustion, sleeplessness, feeling excessive worthlessness, guilt and hopelessness, difficulty in concentrating to simple activities I usually liked; writing poems or songs, playing musical instruments or merely reading a book, my appetite shifted from good to poor too, and I constantly had suicidal thoughts.
