"Hey, Dad!" I greeted him with a hug when I entered his office

"Ruby Jane, what happened to your driver? Why did you drive the car yourself?" Dad asked when I sat down

Dad called me the moment I stepped into the company. I don't know if it was just a coincidence that he saw me driving my car or if the driver snitched on me.

"He was being stupid. What do you expect me to do? Pay someone who doesn't do their job, right? That's not how you work, my dear father," I answered

"That's true but that was just a single mistake, Ruby Jane. Couldn't you have given him another chance?" He asked

"Dad, if I did, what is my assurance that he won't do it again?" I replied before standing

"If you can excuse me, I have to get going. I have more pressing matters to attend to," I told him then I left his office

"Hi, babe," Kai said. He grabbed my waist and locked me on the wall before kissing my lips.

"Kai!" I said and I pushed him away

"W-why? What's wrong?" He asked

"We are in the fucking company! Act professional!" I told him before walking away

"Wait! Babe!" He chased after me, held my hand, and turned me to face him.

"I'm sorry, babe. I just missed you," He said and I just nodded

"Are you still mad? How can I make it up to my babe?" He asked in a baby voice and he caressed my cheek

"Come with me tonight," I said as the idea of watching my friends' gig popped into my head

"Huh? Why?" He replied

"To make it up to me and to meet my friends," I answered

"Babe, is that still necessary? I'm in a relationship with you, not with--"

"If you can't do it, just say it," I told her

Kai heaved a sigh before kissing my hand.

"Okay. I'll pick you up at your unit," He said and I smiled before giving him a kiss on the cheek

"Perfect! Thanks, babe!" I replied and I entered my office. Closing the door in his face. My office is a private area, and I am the only one allowed to go in there unless I invited people in.

I was too consumed by work that I did not notice it was past lunchtime. I went to the restaurant near the company because I'm so tired of eating the food in the cafeteria.

As I was walking to the place, I received a call from Kai.

"Hi, babe! How you doing?" He cheerfully asked

"I'm just on my way to eat lunch. I was planning to ask you but you called me already,"

I did not think of him because I was so consumed by work and EXO is done with the recording this morning so he's done with his business in the company.

"Oh. That's cute, babe. I'm kinda busy with the group but I wanted to remind you to eat well," He said

This is a reason why maybe I am dating Kai. He's sweet. When he was pursuing me, he made me feel I'm being taken good care of.

"Yes, babe. You too," I told him and I saw Jisoo waving at me because this restaurant is her family's chain

"Gotta go, Kai. Jisoo's here," I said
