The rustling sound of leaves greeted my presence
As if they know my purpose here
As I take in the space and breathe in the serenity
This familiar track reminds me of you
I took in the evening atmosphere
I stride at each pace
Letting loose as the pace picks up
As my mind quiets down, my breath sets the pace
As each foot strides forward taking in the wind along I look for the rhythm and sync my speed
There used to be two sets of rhythm
But I'm now used to one
How lovely to see the park filled with loving couples
As they giggled through their evening walk
Such warmth to the eyes and sweetness to the hearts
Just like us when we were here back then
I'm good today and I hope you too
I stop to slow down when the run completes
And stroll to admire the lake's reflection
Amazing that I can see the sun this way
Scorching to eyes if I look up straight
Yet calming as a reflection on the waters below
A different angle to every moment
That's what we need - looking at it positively
Our love is ever growing like the water ripple that I see
A drop of it and it spreads contagiously
I love you still today and everyday
Never fades always there
Though it frustrates at times
But patience and love supersedes
Time will bind us back I know
Until then be well always
