Chapter 15: resurrected

It's been a few weeks we're back at our world now.
I've been reading up on some spells that maybe I can use now that I can absorb power.
"Caleese." I say happy to see her.
She ignores me.
"You're not going to keep this up forever are you?" I ask.
"No." She says.
I vamp speed to her.
"Come with me." I say.
"No." She replies.
"Caleese please." I say.
"I'm still mad at you." She says.
"It's been weeks and you're still mad that I'm king." I say.
"Some king." She says rudely.
"I choose to leave to make you happy and you're still acting like this what do you want?" I ask her.
"I don't know Atlas, for things to be normal for things to go back to the way they used to be to go to work to go to class and hangout with my friends and live in a normal house and have a normal life where I don't know anything about this place." She says walking away.
I grab her.
"Do you not wanna be with me anymore?" I ask .
"I don't know Atlas." She says jerking away and running upstairs.
I've really messed things up. I thought I was fixing them but I guess not the past few weeks it's been like this I already proved my love to her. What more can I do?
"Hey check this out." Twenty says.
"What is that?" I ask.
"I found it in one your rooms, and I promise it wasn't locked." Twenty says.
"It's a resurrection spell." I say.
"Wait so like it can bring people back to life?" He asks.
"Yes." I jerk it away from him.
"But it's dangerous it trades one life for another." I say.
"So it kills someone and brings someone else back?" Twenty asks.
"Awesome." Twenty says.
"No not awesome. Bad very bad." I say putting the spell away.
"Well at least we have insurance if any of us ever die." Twenty says laughing.
"No it's not a game it's only to be used in the worst possible cases." I say.
"Have you ever used it?" Twenty asks.
"No , but I know someone who has." I say.
"Who?" Twenty asks.
"You ask a lot of questions." I say.
My eyes glow white.

(Flash back)
I stand there frozen.
"quick we need to help her she's my love." My old friend says.
"We can't Soren ." I say.
"She's dying." Soren says.
"I - I have a spell but be careful." I say.
Soren reads the spell and quickly dies.
I fall to my knees and gasp.
"atlas?" His love says.
"He's gone." I say running away.
"Nooooo!" I hear her yell in the background.

(Back to present time).

"What was that one about?" Twenty asks.
"Again with the questions." I say.
"Hey hey calm down I was just wondering" twenty says.
"I'm sorry it's just I miss Caleese." I say.
"She has been distant." Twenty says.
"I know." I say looking down.
"Ahhh." I fall to the ground in pain.
"Atlas?!" Twenty yells.
Caleese runs downstairs.
"What's wrong?" She asks.
"It's inside it's like a shock." I say struggling to speak.
"It's yours powers." Twenty says.
"That has to be it we need to take you back to Iris so she can help you." Caleese says.
"Ahh iris." Twenty says drooling.
"Twenty focus." Caleese says.
"We can't go back to iris , it's too much work to get there." I say.
"Caleese you're going to have to learn the spell she used, it's in that book." I say pointing to it on the shelf.
Caleese grabs it.
"What page?" She asks.
"I thought we could only use nature spells?" Twenty asks.
"Healing is a part  of nature." I say.
"It's on page 330." I say leaning back.
Caleese preforms the spell.
"Is that better?" She asks.
"Yes." I say getting up.
"It won't last long since you're not a powerful witch but it'll be okay for now." I say.
"Uhh." I shout as lightening uncontrollably comes out of my hand.
Caleese backs up.
"What is you're just not using your powers enough ?" Twenty says.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"What if you take it all out on something and maybe it'll help." Twenty says.
"That won't work." I say.
"It's an idea." Twenty says.
"An idea you should try." Caleese says.
"I'll try." I say going outside.
I use everything in me and I strike most of my entire greenery down.
Well that's depressing.
I go back inside.
"Do you feel any better?" Caleese asks.
"Somewhat." I say sitting down.
These powers are killing me from the inside I can feel it.
"Atlas I was umm wondering if maybe I could go and visit some friends?" Twenty asks .
"Will you be safe?" I ask.
"Yes of course I'll take my sword. I'll be back by tonight." Twenty says.
"Then yes." I say.
Twenty grabs his things and leaves.
Caleese goes to walk upstairs but I stop her.
"Wait." I say pushing her up against the wall.
She looks at me.
"To the bedroom?" I ask.
"Of course." She says smirking.
I carry her to the bedroom and throw her on the bed.
I climb on top of her and she begins unbuttoning my shirt.
"Atlas...?" She says.
I lean to her .
"Yes." I say softly.
"Your chest..." she says.
"What about it?" I ask.
"Go look." She says.
I vamp speed into the bathroom. I look in the mirror. My entire chest has something similar to blue veins coming from the spot I was burned.
They get worse every second.
I go back to Caleese.
"It's nothing to worry about." I say.
But I fear that if I don't do something about it it could kill Me.
"Are you sure?" She asks.
"It's fine it's just the burn." I say as I kiss her.
She interrupts.
"Okay but shouldn't it be healed by now?" She asks.
"Caleese Caleese my love we'll worry later." I say leaning down to kiss her again.
She interrupts again.
"Okay but I can't just worry later I want to know you're okay." She says.
"I'm fine." I say leaning down to attempt to kiss her again.
She interrupts again.
"Atlas please , we need to worry about you right now." She says.
Oh for the love of god . I pull away from her and lay next to her on the bed.
I take a deep breath.
"I'm sorry." She says.
"Don't be." I say.
"Wanna try again?" She asks.
"No." I reply.
We both just sit there not looking at each other.
"Maybe we should go back to the other realm and ask Roselyn." Caleese says.
"No Caleese I'm fine." I say.
"Please it would make me feel a lot better if we did." She says.
"Ahh." I fall on the floor and scream in pain again.
"We're going now." Caleese says.
"Fine." I say.
She grabs a silver dollar and throws it on the ground.
We jump in and go straight to Roselyn at the new castle.
"King Atlas." The guards bow.
"Roselyn we need you." Caleese yells.
"What's wrong with him?"she asks.
"Why don't you take a look?" Caleese says.
"I will come with me Atlas." Roselyn says.
"Not you Caleese you stay here." Roselyn says walking with me to her room.
I unbutton my shirt showing her.
"Oh no." Roselyn says.
"What is it?" I ask scared.
"Oh nothing it's not that bad just looks so so ugly." Roselyn says laughing.
"Oh I thought it was killing me." I say in relief.
"Oh it is." She says .
I look at her scared.
"But you're a vampire you're immortal one drop of Caleese's blood can heal this , now if you were human you'd be dead." She says laughing.
"Wait why Caleese's blood?" I ask.
"Doppelgänger blood is powerful and it heals." Roselyn says.
"Then go get her." I say.
Caleese comes in.
Roselyn grabs her wrist aggressively and slits it.
"Ahh." Caleese yells in pain.
I lean up to make sure she's okay.
"Gentle Roselyn." I say angry.
"Sorry didn't know your girlfriend was such a baby." Roselyn says pouring the blood on the burn and preforming the spell.
"I am not a baby." Caleese says crossing her arms then leaning over to make sure I'm alright.
"He's going to be okay but he needs to give this blood time to work." Roselyn says to Caleese.
"I'll stay with him." Caleese says as she lays down next to me.
Roselyn leaves and closes the door.
"I'm sorry we've been arguing." Caleese says softly.
I tuck her hair behind her ear.
"It's okay." I say softly as I give her a gentle kiss.
"I wish it could just be us here forever." Caleese says.
"I know , me too." I say .
"I do love you." Caleese says.
"I love you too ." I say holding her hand.
"Im feeling better already." I say as I kiss her more aggressively.
"I can see." She says.
"Is it okay now?" I ask.
"Yes." She says.
I undress Caleese slowly.
She grabs my arm tracing her way down my back.
I take off my pants.
"Maybe you should let me do the work this time." Caleese says as she climbs on top of me.
Id usually put her in her place but I'm too weak and something about her being demanding turns me on.
She get it in and begins riding me.
I grab her hips feeling it all.
I pull her down to me and I place my hand on her head to comfort her as I begin doing the work from the bottom.
Caleese begins moaning.
I have to cover her mouth.
She leans back up and keeps going to finish.
In that moment watching her feel me , I knew what love was , I can't think of anyone or anything else just her , I see her . Caleese has showed me something I had never had real passion real love and real feeling.
I didn't even think about the sex I just thought about her . How I wanted her forever, how she was mine and I was hers.
We lock eyes and I can just tell she feels it too.
"I love you Atlas." She says as she whispers in my ear.
We both finish.
"I love you too." I say catching my breath.
Caleese lays there and she falls asleep, but I know what I have to do.
I grab a silver dollar and I go back home and grab something I've been keeping locked away.
I come straight back and I see Caleese is still sleeping. I walk outside the room and sit there waiting for her to wake up.
"I see you're feeling better?" Roselyn asks.
I laugh. "Yes much better." I say.
"I heard it too." Roselyn says laughing as she walks away.
I feel a little bit of embarrassment but it goes away.
I start thinking to myself .
I have had many loves , and many lives .
But nothing quite like Caleese. She inspires me she makes me feel , and she stands up to me.
I love that woman more than words can explain.
Many hours go by.
"Atlas?" Caleese says as I hear her open the door.
I stand up.
"Hey how are you feeling?" I ask.
"Very good." She says as she pulls me back into the room.
"I want you to come with me somewhere." I say .
"Where?" She asks.
"Just follow me." I say.
I walk outside the castle and Caleese follows.
It's beginning to get dark and all of the stars are out.
We walk for a little while until I finally find it.
"What is this place?" Caleese asks looking at everything.
"It's a place I used to come with Roselyn a long time ago , we would sit here for hours and watch the water flow." I say placing a hand in it.
"It's beautiful." Caleese says.
"Indeed." I say but I'm not looking at the water I'm looking at Caleese.
"See that hill up there." I say pointing to something a little bit far away.
"Yes." Caleese says.
"Follow me there." I say as I begin walking towards it.
She follows.
"This is where I fought in a witch war about 800 years ago." I say.
"That was a long time ago." Caleese says.
"It was , but I've always loved this place it reminds me of how hard I've worked and how nature restores things." I say.
"It was all burned the last time I saw it such a beautiful place untouched by man burned in some silly war." I say .
"But it's all better now." Caleese says.
"It's healed but do you see these cracks in the ground? Those are war scars." I say.
"This land felt it , we hurt more than just each other that day." I say.
"Now walk with me here." I say pointing to a water fall.
Caleese follows me there.
"This is where I used to come alone." I say.
"No one else has been here with you?" Caleese asks.
"No." I say.
"But now you have I'm sharing with you things I love." I say.
"This waterfall is beautiful." Caleese says turning away.
I kneel to the ground pulling out a ring the ring I had locked up , it's what I went back to get. I bought this ring a long long time ago but I didn't give it to any of my loves not even Alexcia.
Caleese turns around and gasps.
"Will you marry me?" I ask.
Caleese stares at me.
"Oh atlas yes, yes I love you." She says as she jumps into my arms.
I place the ring on her finger and grab her hand.
"I've lived , and I've seen so many things, but not one thing could ever compare to you." I say as I kiss her.
We look into the sky and see a star magically glow across.
"Congratulations." Roselyn says clapping.
"You're here too?" I ask smiling.
"I'm a witch I felt this was coming. I couldn't miss it." Roselyn says hugging us.
We all share this moment.
"Someone's missing." Roselyn says.
Caleese and I look at each other.
"Twenty!" We both say.
We walk back to the castle and go back to our world.
We walk in to see twenty in the kitchen eating a lot of food.
He slides his ice cream behind his back slowly.
"You know I came home and I didn't see either of you so instead of worrying I figured , hey you have the entire castle to yourself you can eat whatever you want." Twenty says laughing.
We just hug him.
"We're glad you're okay." I say.
"Of course I'm okay I have mint chocolate chip icecream baby." Twenty says.
Caleese shows twenty her ring.
"Oh cool where'd you get that?" Twenty asks.
We don't say anything, Caleese stands next to me and we both smile.
"Am I missing something?" Twenty asks.
"Oh I know what it is Atlas is feeling better." Twenty says.
"No , well yes but no." I say looking at him.
"Omg you guys are engaged!" Twenty says running up and hugging us.
