Falling for Siddharth

"I love you" He states 

Im lost for words. Siddharth, the owner of surely one of the most successful businesses in this state, is saying I love you. 

"What is this" I stammer

"This is probably a shock to you, but this is my feelings, Im in love with you" He states

Siddharth is in love with me. 

With me.

This first time these words are said to me in these years are from a man like him.

"This-wont work" I stammer

Siddharths overjoyed face drops.

"What?" He stammers

"I cant do this" I say trying to get out of the car

He clinges onto my hand. 

His warmth makes the cold weather seem to disapear

Why was not the words I spoke what I truly wanted to say.

I wanted to say yes, and to accept his proposal. Yet I couldn't.

"Babe" He sighs

"Dont call me babe" I say

He was saddneded.

"Why?" He asks

"This is not for me, there's so many girls out there, girls more your age" I stammer

"Girls my age? You think over these years I wouldn't have met girls my age? I have, but nobody was ever right for me, after my failed marriage thoughts of marrying again wasn't relevant until the day when I saw you, I was lovestruck, you were perfect, the girl that was good for me, the kind of girl who I would've taken for granted in the past" He sigsh looking down

"Im sure Alia wasn't like me" I sigh

I knew about his ex-wife, apparently shes dating some actor now. She was the opposite of me.

"I wasn't talking about her" He sighs

"Oh" mumble

"You know at my age you can go your whole life wanting a certain type of wife or girl, wanting certain goals in life, then suddenly it strikes you that what you need is teh opposite of that?" He says

Sounds like this guy is having a moment

"You know there's two kids in my life, they are ugh grown up. I spent all these years as a single dad taking care of them after that bitch Alia left. Honestly I had no time to think about what I wanted in life. Now I have. I mean a man cant stay alone forever" He sighs looking sad

"Siddharth awe didnt mean to upset you" I say gently placing his warm hands on mine

He gazes up at me, looking hopeful. 

"You wont like a guy like me anyway" He sighs pulling away

"No I want you" I say

He smiles

"You honestly meant that?" He asks

"Yes" I reply

He leans forward, looking into my eyes.

This is how people lean in for kisses.

I have never kissed anyone before. 

When he reaches my face, despite wanting to kiss him I push back.

"Sorry I crossed the line" He sighs

"No, I'm not comfortable with that stuff" I say

"Stupid" He sigsh groaning at himself

"Its not your fault, I need some time" I explain

"Yeah I understand" He smiles

When he looks into my eyes, truly the connection between me and him was there. This was like a mutual understanding, despite not saying anything, the passion was strong. 

This is the kind of relationship I want. 

One with someone mature, who wasn't abusive or a cheat. Man like Siddharth.
