a poem of keeping.

Through my final breath
I am not gone
Not truly anyway.
Through the sharp noise
that cut through the tense air
like your knife
which flawlessly slice those shadows
you held your breath
and I lost the grip on my own
you held on
I let go
through all the parallels
like as if the world forced us to dance
You won, you should smile.
all victories should be celebrated
but no.
I overestimated your will, perhaps
but it made me smile.
you're not annoyingly perfect
everyone sees you as so. you're broken and unpolished like I
maybe we are the same.
what was the phrase I heard once before?
two faces, same coin.
But it leaves me baffled
so unpredictable
you earn your title well
you choose to keep on
It is you who decided
that this punishment was enough.
what punishment?
the punishment of guilt, dread, remorse
the feeling of wanting to do so much more
You prod at yourself how much you should've done more
but have you ever wondered? maybe this is what I wanted?
you knew I didn't have many plans ahead.
let the curtains fall
let the show end, dammit!
But no.
You kept me alive.
Through your own sickness
and through your own health
through a silent promise we both made
you kept me here.
through your memories
through your nightmares
I claw at your senses
I embrace you as comfort
it's bittersweet
a double-bladed sword
but I am a fool.
this didn't stop you,
nothing can.
so promise me.
don't change, never change.

Hi, It's me. Again, with more one-shots made over the break. If you all came from my other stories I'm sorry I haven't updated any of them since. But hey I got some sustenance for y'all.

Anyways, fandoms change and all that. This poem is a bit uh wonky, but I like it. It was made in the POV of Akechi Goro from persona 5. (don't worry there are regular stories coming up)

also happy birthday 6/02 goro ratkechi
