Where Demons Hide

Its been a few days since I have been tracking down those foot prints that I found the other day. Until now I have got nothing but the foot prints are every where like someone was looking for something or comes here often. Maybe the hunter is after us. Maybe he wants to kill me because I am looking for him. I shake these feelings off and follow yet another trail of foot prints which of course leads to nowhere.

You see while I had been tracking the trails I had found them to be leading into the deeper and denser part of the forest. I want to follow them there but I am a bit concerned because I might lose my way there and get lost in the forest. And I don't want that if there is infact a wolf killing hunter there. Which I know that there is.

While I was lost in my thoughts I heard movement behind me. Quickly I turn around and there was nothing. Thinking of it as a small animal most likely a squirrel I shrug it off. Turning back on my track I was taken aback by Jupiter hissing at something behind some trees. I make my way towards her to see what is the matter with her. When I reach her I see nothing and she is jumping around to find what ever it was that she was looking at.

I also look around to find what she found interesting. Looking around the area I spot something. Finally. I see something big and black disappear behind some trees. I make my way towards it hurriedly but quietly. When I reach there I see someone's retreating back.

God, this person is huge! His shoulders are wide and his posture is confident and stiff. I could make out some markings on his neck and head but nothing much. Mosy likely some tattoos. The hunter my mind says to me. After checking him out I finally snap out of it to see that he was walking.

"A-are you t-the hunter?"  I asked in a shakey voice. To be honest I felt scared and that was shocking. Amber is never scared. It's Ace's thing. I heard a gruff 'yes'. My head snapped in his direction. Oh,my God! He's going to kill me now. He turned and took a few steps towards me. In response I took a few steps back until my back was pressed against a tree. Shit! I cursed. Sorry grandma, please forgive me.

He kept stalking towards me until he was only a few steps away from me. I looked up to see conflict in his darkened grey eyes. Wow his eyes are beautiful. And his lashes are so long. And then my mind scolded me. Are you kidding me! He is the freaking hunter and is probably about to kill you and you complimenting his eye. Unbelievable! I snap out of my mental scolding when I heard him growl lowly.

"A-are you g-going to k-kill me-e?" I asked in a small timid voice. My eyes fixed on the forest floor. "No" he reply gruffly. My eyes snapped to his. There was hurt in his eyes just for a second then they got to being stone cold with no emotion.

His answer was not what I expected. "Why?" I asked stupidly. I mentally face palm. "You haven't done anything to me. Why would I kill you?" He said in a low husky voice which sent shivers down my spine. Even his voice his hypnotizing. "I-i don't k-know. Y-you are t-the hunter-r you c-could-" My rambling and stuttering was cut of by his husky laugh. Why was he laughing? What did I say so funny? And why does his laugh sound like that is the only sound I want hear now? What!?"I would never hurt you, Amber " he said lowly.

Thank God! Wait what?! He knows my name?! But how? "How do you know my name?" I asked him confused. This time I didn't stutter because of my shock. He turned and started to walk away "I know a lot about you Amber. More than you would like but I must warn you to stay away from me. It would be in the best interests for both of us". I stand there confused looking at his retreating form " Wait! Stop! I don't know you name?" I shout out to him. He stops in his tracks and looks at me over his shoulder. "You shall know my name Luna meum when the skies are dark and the moon baths us in sliver". He turns and disappear behind the thick trees. [My moon]

Uh what? My mind says. What did he mean? Ugh he is so mysterious! Just then I noticed that it was getting dark. I started to get back to the cottage. Just as I get there grandma was standing outside looking worried. When she saw me she rushed toward me and asked in concern " Where were you? Are you OK?" I smiled at her and told her that I was OK and there is nothing to worry about. "So did you find anything new?" She asked like every other day as we entered our small home. I thought for a moment should I tell her about my encounter with the hunter? "No nothing new" I say with a shrug.

It was like she could see through my lie but didn't say anything and just nodded. That's the thing about grandma she knows when something is up either with me or anyone else. Like she could see through us and knows every little secret of ours. Sooner or later I would have to tell her about him. But I would tell her later rather than sooner.

After making dinner with grandma we eat it in comfortable silence. During dinner grandma kept glancing at me like she wanted to say something but didn't. I hope everything is fine. After washing the dishes I said good night to grandma and went to my room while she was in the living room reading a book about something. She is always reading something.

I get to my room and change into some night clothes which are a big oversized shirt and some leggings which Ace got me because apparently sleeping in a dress is uncomfortable. Yes I only wear dresses which grandma make for me. She also sells them in town.
After changing I got to the small window in my room and look towards the forest where I met hunter today. He was so mysterious and did not show any emotion. But he did laughed when I was rambling. He didn't even try to kill me. I could be the most easiest pray for him but instead he said he would not hurt me. 'I would never hurt you' his hypnotizing voice repeats in my mind. Why would he not hurt me? And he also knew my name.

I walked towards my bed and layed there staring at the ceiling. 'Amber' his voice sounded so good saying my name like it was the real way to say my name and everyone else says it wrong. I sighed and closed my eyes. Trying to get some much needed sleep but it was nearly impossible as a certain hunter kept invading my thoughts.

I turned to face towards the window where I saw a half moon shining brightly. I closed my eyes and softly whispered "What are you doing to me hunter?" with that said, I welcomed sleep with open arms.
