{Xavier's POV}
I still remember his first words to me when he first saw me. "Boy, come here and help me out a bit. Please." He wasn't even scared of me considering as I was a total stranger and looked like I was ready to kill anyone in my path. I chuckle when I realize that I wasn't the one who helped him but it was him who helped me.
Currently I am walking in the forest collecting some wild flowers, berries and other plants to make a bouquet. Yeah I know. A big bad guy like me making a bouquet. Well you have to do the best and be the best for the ones we have close to our heart. I know what you are thinking. Who is this guy talking about? The person I'm talking about was like a father to me. The father that I didn't have while growing up. The father that told that nothing wrong with me. The father that gave my life a purpose.
The father that I am talking about is Frederic Stone. Yes he was the grandfather of Amber. Speaking of her, I haven't seen her in a few days. Probably because she has been reading that long ass book that I gave her. I remember that first and last time I read that book. I took me I think a year to complete it. But knowing Amber I know she will finish it in record time.
'Xavier' I hear in my head. I roll my eyes but respond anyways. "Yes, Xeron." Him being the dramatic ass he is releases a heavy sigh than says 'where is mate?' I don't want to sound harsh because I know how much he misses her so I simply reply "She's busy." He sighs yet again. Drama queen. 'Can we see mate later?' He is really impatient. "OK we will but first we have to visit Fred." He seems to get really excited about that and agrees.
After making a decent bouquet I make my way to where Fred is buried. "Hey Fred." I greet. Suddenly all the memories that I made with him came back with full force. I sit beside his grave with my legs crossed. I feel my eyes burn with tears but I hold them back. "I'm protecting them as I promised." I say but my voice brakes at the end. "You know I found my mate. And you will be very surprised to hear who that is." I smile a bit thinking about her.
"It's your granddaughter." I say with a sigh. If he was alive he would be holding me by my throat right now. "I know you are not really happy to know this but this is how it is. You said that the moon goddess does everything that is the best for us so even if I'm not the best for Amber she is all that I wanted in my life. She is the light in my darkness. She is the reason I want to live my life. I can't even imagine her receiving any type of pain. I promise you yet again that I will do anything to protect her and make her the most happiest woman in the world just like she makes me feel like the most happiest man alive."
After a few moments of silence I start again. "The rogues were getting too close to them and as promised I took care of them. I'm sure now that no more will come again to harm your wife and my mate ever again." From the time I was a little child I hated rogues they were the reason my family died. They were the reason every other person I cared for died. They were the reason Fred died. And they wanted to be the reason for my mate to die.
But I promised everyone that were killed by them that I will not let other people die because of them. As I was in my train of thoughts I hear some footsteps and rustling from behind me. Than I smell the most intoxicating scent of pine, roses and cherries. 'Mate!' Xeron exclaims in my mind. I quickly get up and hide behind some trees. "We'll talk to her later." I tell my impatient wolf. He whines and I roll my eyes.
