Oops, just passing by. Don't mind me. I'm very innocent. Haven't updated in a while, I figured that I might need to publish an Akane Aoi oneshot soon. Thank you for reading my book. 💙✨
____Ah, there he was -
Standing and doing nothing; yet she felt her heart sink deeper into the hole she dug up without thinking. An abyss that continually swallowed her weal and chest convulsing in a manner she could never understand. Was she suffering from arrhythmia?
Sometimes, her stomach also felt like as if butterflies were nestling inside - fluttering vigorously, unable to stop their wings hitting the walls of her digestive organ. It was making her insides churn in precarious vulnerability.
"Akane-kun, let's go." The moment she heard her voice, the insecurities that hid beneath her facade resurfaced; unable to swallow the lump forming in her throat as teeth clenched in disavowal.
How could she not? To be in her shoes was a dream. Only she could relive in the phantasms of her making. She wasn't popular to begin with, [name] was just an ordinary student trying to get by the day.
Damn, nobody would even know if she went missing. Her presence was merely that of a bug passing by. She was a nobody, compared to her.
"Yeah, let's go Ao-chan."
And that shit hurts a ton, not going to lie. Why was she feeling like that in the first place? As if she was adamant on trying to conceal the emotions she conceived with her fragile heart. For someone who loves to devalue her self-worth, she sure is a sentient being.
Atleast she has friends who knows she actually existed.
"[name]-chan, you've been staring at the floor for too long. Are you sure you're okay?" Nene Yashiro, a girl with swollen ankles spoke with worry. Ah, was she boring holes again? Shit, she got carried away.
"Yeah, I'm fine." The firm grip on the hem of her skirt said otherwise, but the gradient-haired student chose not to press further. Somehow, Yashiro knew.
"Mouu Nene-chan, don't mind me. Let's get going!"
"A-are you sure [name]-chan?"
The clicking sound of their heels resonated, she knew what was going on inside. It was hidden in plain sight, nobody would've noticed right away. The diminishing glimmer in her eyes, it felt like they were hundreds of death each moment her [eye color] landed on the reddish-brown haired individual.
[name] is adept to feigning her demean. How could she not? To be in her shoes was something she yearned, the self-loathe bubbling inside her self-colored world wasn't difficult to distinguish. Yashiro knew.
Tear-stained, the smile she wore daily with an insconpicious glower and the cavader-like disposition as if she rose from her tomb. She knew the each day passes, the more her heart ached for inevitable — the Akane Aoi effect.
Man, to be in denial of the feelings she harboured was slowly gnawing on her skin. The cold harsh truth of someone like him will never be hers to begin with. After all, he was inlove with her bestfriend. That, Yashiro knew.
"Nee, [name]-chan?" Alas, amid the orange skies they walked. They came into a halt, basking from the sun's diminishing rays. The soft wind felt refreshing, slowly her mind drifted of somewhere as she hummed in response. For a moment right there, she forgot everything — to be reminded later by an epistolary frienship with depression and self-degradation.
"I'll stay with you."
A small smile was enough.
"I know Nene-chan." Unrequited.
