"Happy Birthday!" Kurt and Conri screeched in her face in mismatched co-ordination as she entered the Volturi kitchen that day and the birthday girl screeched in small shock, jumping half a foot in the air while they laughed rowdily at her. "We're making pancakes."

"Ooh, and you have presents. And we're going to get fucking sloshed!" Chann cheered. The previous day, they had had success with the Italian werewolves and it was now the beta's birthday and they still had a week and a half until the full moon so they were going to make the most of their current safety and celebrate as well as they could in Volterra.

"You look pretty" Lou cooed, assessing Adolpha's pretty white sundress and she smiled as she followed her sister-in-law's gaze down her body.

"Thank you, it was a present from Heidi," she remarked, flattening the dress over her thigh calmly as she sipped her orange juice. They hadn't really seen many of the Volturi members since their arrival in the castle and they put that down to the business of the establishment and the fact that the wolves themselves were running around the place, busier than they had been in years.

"Eat up quickly" Lou quipped and Adolpha frowned as the other female shoved a fork into her hand determinedly.

"What? Why?"

"Your vampire boyfriend has plans" Conri replied, wiggling his eyebrows and Adolpha glared though inside, the sound of it lightened her heart considerably. Caius had planned something for her birthday which indicated one thing for certain. He was trying after all. Unconsciously, Adolpha began to shovel her pancakes into her mouth much faster after that- to the amusement of the group as a whole."The big 100... How exciting. You, Sweet Sister, are going to get drunk. We'll be scraping you off the sidewalk before morning."

"We haven't had a good night out since the nineties" Kurt chuckled.

"Well, the time has come to hit the refresh button. We are partying in Volterra tonight Folks, not exactly how we planned it but... Such is life." Chann clapped his hands on the table excitably. "The sooner you return home from visiting lover boy, it's party time."

"We aren't day drinking today, Chann" Conri denied sternly. "We are doing this the right way, we're mature now. Older" he nodded jokingly and Lou giggled along with his words. They were all on top of the moon, they always were whenever they had an excuse to go out and have a good time and their excitement was indicated by the bright grin on each of their lips.

"Right, that's enough" Lou decided, snatching the food away from Adolpha who blinked in shock before promptly glaring in annoyance. "You can't leave a king waiting, Dolpha!" the beta sighed in clear annoyance and vague resignation as she flattened her hair calmly. Inside, she was more nervous than she had been in months. She wasn't sure why, but it felt like Caius was a stranger now. They had teased one another constantly for months but this was different, this was serious and more important.

"Just be your normal, beautiful self and he'll love you" Kurt assured, always the gentle one of the group and she smiled softly, thanking him with her eyes as she made to stand.

"Where am I going?" she queried.

"Oh, the garage"

"Brilliant, it will probably take me until nightfall to find it" she huffed. "This place is like the freaking labyrinth"

"Have fun" Conri breathed, waving her off and she just sighed as she made her way into the cold stone hallways of the castle, marching hastily with her pretty red shoes clicking with every step. She felt vaguely as though she was going on a blind date with a stranger, she didn't know what Caius she was going to be met with. He could be the serious, caring Caius who she had just met, the cold stern Caius or the teasing playful Caius who she had been exposed to over and over again throughout her time in the castle so far. The girl was happy to remember the way to the garage, finding it smoothly with a grin on her lips.

At the door, Adolpha paused, breathing deeply to bring her composure back into place and force down the smile that hurt her cheeks at that moment.

Adolpha Blackwood sighed, cautiously entered the dark underground room as she made her way easily through the many lines of cars- her eyes searching for one man in particular who she was certain was there somewhere. Inevitably, she found him leaning against a shimmering white lamborghini. For a long moment, in the time between her noticing him and he noticing her- She stopped and stared.

He looked so beautiful as he stood there, black shirt stretched effortlessly over his toned body, an expensive winter coat pulled into place and his hair immaculate. He was certainly gorgeous, even with a face like stone and she was slightly curious as to how long he had been stood waiting for her. Though, she had to blink herself out of her daze as Caius' red eyes snapped up to her, the man smiling slightly - an expression that still unnerved her to see.

"Good morning"

"Hi"

"Happy Birthday... I thought we could go somewhere?" he questioned.

"Are you actually asking me? Or is that a demand?" she laughed and he seemed to think about it for a moment, face ponderingly playful.

"Definitely a demand. In you get" he clipped and she rolled her eyes. "Don't roll your eyes at me Adolpha" he reminded in a whistle as he took his own seat in the expensive car and she felt strangely uncomfortable for a moment as she scanned the interior- not wanting to touch anything in case she broke it. The previous day, he'd given her his keys to his BMW to take to the Italian wolf camp... This was a far stretch from that.

"Relax" Caius hummed, looking over at her and she snapped her gaze to him, finding how close the car forced them to be. The second their eyes met, she felt a peculiar magnetic attraction that had her wanting to force their lips together passionately. Though she resisted doing something so risky, especially now that they had created their idea of a slow relationship. "Your little heart sounds like it's going to fly straight out of your chest, and that would be awfully messy" he winked calmly, completely relaxed as he expertly began to drive and she breathed deeply to calm herself as she relaxed back into the smooth leather. She had been met with a cross between Playful Caius and Caring Caius- a combination of her favourites.
