"Quarantine"

A phenomenon is spreading wide,
I tell myself I am safe inside,
All the four walls are creeping near,
Protection from the outbreak and fear,

Lockdown prevented us to run and roam,
While the death toll grows outside your home,
Fear of the unknown made people pessimistic,
The only "positive" that made us tremble in panic,

While some are stuck in endless boredom,
The poor wished to find food with freedom,
You complain with eating and sleeping all day,
While hunger screams from words they can't say,

Prevention will always be better than cure,
Have discipline, and stubbornness shall not lure,
Lies killed the unsung heroes of our country,
These actions taught us the value of honesty,

Condolence to the ones that died,
To those who gave their best and tried,
The only weapon I can give and say,
Is to stay inside my house and pray,

Have time with your love ones and family,
Kiss their cheeks and hug them so tightly ,
Treasure the moments and sweet embrace,
Home is the only place that can never be replace,

This crisis taught me to try everything,
Their sacrifices encouraged me to keep on studying,
Expecting nothing in return but for patients to get well,
Health is the only wealth you can never buy or sell,

Salute to all the medical frontliners,
So proud of all the unnamed backliners,
Death is waiting for them everyday,
Still they became hope that shines night and day,

Loneliness preached on how to find the real me,
You don't need to be intelligent nor wealthy,
No need to have a profession to bear,
To help someone, all you need is to care,

We cannot save everyone,
But all of us can help someone,
This change separated us from the world,
But drew us closer to God and His Word,

This is the second chance we did not need,
Repent all your sins and deeds of greed,
Your prayers made you a brave warrior,
And the only one who can save us is our Saviour,

All the nations fought with unity,
To make our world covid-free,
May your heart and soul be cleansed and pristine,
Never forget the lessons you learned in quarantine.
