Pilot (Summer Rose X Male reader)

Rumbling Sky

(Y/N) POV

"Dust powered aircraft is essential to transport of goods and people. It's important you all know how they work, so that if involved in an emergency, you can repair a transport ship," Our technology teacher rants out.

"Man, this is so boring!" Summer whispers as she looks around the class. Her eyes settle on Tai and Raven getting comfy with each other while paying attention to class.

"Man, extra lame," She says as her head drops to our desks

"I agree, I'd much rather learn relevant things," I agree with her

"The dust powered aircraft are the only planes able to reach these speed," the teacher goes on

"I mean, come on. Mine can outpace the dust powered ones by at least quadruple," I say to Summer

"Yea," She says bored looking at Tai

"SUMMER ROSE, answer this question," The teacher suddenly asks her

"Huh?" She says confused

"VTOL" I whisper to her

"VTOL!" She says. The Teacher nods and continues the lesson

Summer makes sighs of relieve and wipes her forehead

"Thank you," She says

"Yea," I say as we wait for class to be over

Once it was finally over, I was called to Ozpin's office. I made my way up the elevator, and once I was in his office, I found out why

Standing in the middle of the room stood my father

"(Y/N) good to see you well," He says with a straight face

"Yea, what are you here for," I say unsure of what to say

"I'm here to collect you, we have some upgrades we would like to fit the Eagle and do some tests," He says

"Oh, but I got some tests coming up," I tell him

"Skip them, this is more important," He says

"Bu--" I start to say

"no Buts, you will do as I say!" He lashes out

"Copy," I say hanging my head low

"Ok, off to Atlas we go, we will ride the Eagle," He says

"Wait can I say bye to my friends," I ask him. He looks at me for s bit

"No," He says leaving the office and referencing me to follow

Ozpin looks at me with sympathy as he is hopeless to do anything.

Once we reach outside, I spawn the Eagle and we both board the ship. We both strap in and I start the engines.

As I ascend, I suddenly get a message from Lizart

"Behind us!"

I suddenly rapidly increase the power of the left vertical thrusters to launch us in a spin. As I do, a black plane flies by us. They turn around, and I recognize the aircraft. It's the same one from the other day....and the one that shot me down.

I stop the spin as we square off facing each other. Ironwood study's the other aircraft

"What in the!" Ironwood says as it starts its attack. I throttle the engine up as the engines starts to roar to life and I prepare for combat. We hassle toward each other at great speed.

I fire my weapons and they do the same. The Eagle starts getting pelted by bullets as I don't change course and continue flying toward it.

"(Y/N)!" Ironwood says concerned for his life. I ignore him and continue firing. It slowly turns into a game of chicken

"More!" I ask Lizart in my head as I increase throttle

I can feel her smile as the Eagle starts speeding faster. The engines are so loud you could probably hear them from Atlas.....and we still are above Beacon

"(Y/N) stop this!" Ironwood says as the other plane is just ahead of us.

"Gotcha!" I yell at myself, as I activate the right vertical thrusters to roll us 90 degrees just before we hit them. The Eagles wings aren't super sharp, they are more like a very dull blade. You can't cut yourself if you run your fingers along with it, but at high speed, it can and will cut through most things.

And at that moment, that black plane is about to be cut in half. It didn't have enough time to react as it hits my wing head on. As expected, my wing cuts right through the middle of the aircraft. And due to all of our armour, the wing receives little damage.

I quickly shove our brake flaps open and do a 180 to watch the plane that caused me so much trouble, plummet to the ground. I dive down and follow incase the pilot survives.

I can see the pilot eject out and a parachute is deployed as they start to slowly descend. The remains of the plane barrel toward the ground and once it reaches dirt, it is crushed completely.

I predict where the pilot would land and head to land there, I quickly land the Eagle and watch as the pilot slowly reaches us. Once they did, Ironwood instantly grabs them. I exited the Eagle and They were covered, head to toe in aviation gear.

"Who are you!" Ironwood asked them.

"None of your business!" A boy says

"Yes it is," Ironwood says

"Ha, the world will be Salems!" He says as we rip his face mask off.

He had the face of a grim and he was smiling madly

"What are you playing at!" Ironwood asks

"You, dead on the ground," He says as Ironwood says confused

"Well you failed," Ironwood says

"No, I haven't," the boy says does something

I look at him weirdly, then I realize what's happening

"Watch out!" I yell but it's too late. The boy suddenly explodes and my vision is surrounded by metal and then darkness.
