Summer POV

Flashback

"Ruby, where are you, Ruby," I say as I look around the house. Where has that child gone? She just can't stay in one spot for more than a second. I walk around the house until I see Raven watching something

"Raven, do you know where Ruby is?" I ask as Raven covers her mouth with a finger and hushes me. I look to what she is looking at in confusion

I see Ruby, Yang and Tai playing together. The simile Ruby has on her face melts my heart with joy. She is grinning ear to ear with a beaming smile

"They look so adorable," Raven says quietly

"They do," I say smiling

We watch them play around. Ruby is only 4, but she gets along with Yang perfectly. I guess you could really call them sisters. After all, they live in the same house

"So what's on the menu?" Raven asks. Since I moved here 4 years ago, I've been suckered into making all the meals...and they seem to have a reputation of being good

"I'm thinking Fish," I mutter

"Make it good," Raven teases me

"No promises," I say as I head to the kitchen and get to cooking. After the fish was done, I called for everyone and we all ate. After, I cleaned the dishes and put Ruby to bed

When I moved here, I insisted that me and Ruby shared a room so we don't take up any excess space. And it's nice to watch my child sleep peacefully...it's comforting

"Come on, Ruby, time for bed," I say as Ruby rubs her eyes

"Do I have too?" She asks

"Yes honey, you do," I say as I lead her to our room, I ready her bed and get her into her pyjamas.

She climbs into her bed as I tuck her blanket in as she gets comfy

"Mom, do I have a daddy like Yang does?" Ruby asks innocently. Her sudden words shock me. I knew she would need to know about him eventually. But it still hurts...it hurts that she has to ask that. It hurts that he can't be the father he would want to be...it hurts all too much

"Yes, you do," I say as I grab one of her favourite teddies from the ground

"Where is he?" Ruby asks confused

I smile as I think about what he would be doing had he been alive

"If he was alive, he'd definitely be flying the high sky's," I say as I giggle a bit

"The high sky's? Daddy can fly!" Ruby asks surprised

"Yes, he can fly planes better than anyone else," I say as I start to explain the Eagle to her. It's not a good bedtime story. Ruby seems to get more excited as I describe the Eagle to her

"Daddy can really do that!" Ruby says a little too loud for inside

"Indoor voice," I mutter as she cutely covers her mouth with her hands

"Yes, your daddy really could do that," I say smiling

"Coool! If he can fly then why isn't he with us?" She asks as I began to frown

"Daddy saved us all, he saved me, and he also saved you, but in return, he had to go away to a place where people go when they die. I think he is watching us though, I think even though he didn't know about you, he is wishing the best of luck to you," I say not hiding anything. She needs to know. And hiding his death won't change anything

"So daddy's a hero," Ruby says smiling

"Yea, a hero," I say smiling
