There was a time when it was me,
above the rest
I meant more than anything,
even the heart inside your chest
I was of great importance,
nothing you'd wanna squander
I was taken at face value,
And nobody had to ponder
I made men of boys, yet i defined a man,
and I sealed the deal, like the shake of a hand
i'm invisible, and unseen,
though you know all about me
but when others give me,
all you do is doubt me
you throw me back in their faces,
and you tell others to eat me
you should announce me proudly,
don't give me discreetly
Because I can change your life.
and all you have to do is just keep me!
I'm your word!
