I wouldn't be as happy to wake
with my head upon a pillow,
To have awoken in a bed
Instead of underneath the willow
I doubt the willow could weep much as I,
I can't suppress my tears no matter how hard I try,
The willow listens to the songs of my heart
And it weeps for me when I fall apart
I constantly cry
My visions a blur
How much more can I take
I couldn't be sure
Life has been so hard
I don't know how I endure
The willow wipes my eyes
with its leaves of falling fur
I'm held protectively
Within the Willows embrace
And I'm tickled pink
When it's leaves brush my face
Not ever would I trade
The willow for another
The willow means more to me
Than even does my mother
The willow and I
We were meant to be
Kin to one another
Is me and this tree
That means more to me
Than ever has my family
My name is upon the willow
Its carved into it's bark
Forever tethered
I've left my mark
And upon my skin
The willow shows
Captured in ink
It never grows
The willow will forever be with me
Until the day I die
And though the road will be rough
I still have to try
So I go to the willow
And finally say goodbye
Now I can always sleep
Under the leaves of the willow
Even when I'm at home
With my head upon my pillow
