Chapter Fourteen

    "I'll miss you too, angel, but I have to share you with grandma and grandpa," Betty said, sending Eve out the door with Alice and Hal.
    She closed the door and walked up the stairs into her room, grabbing her hairbrush and brushing her hair. She took in a deep breath, smiling at her reflection. Jughead hugged her from behind and rested his chin on her shoulder. Betty kissed him on the cheek. He pressed his lips gently on her neck and nuzzled into her.
    "I am so proud of you, Betts. You know that, right?"
    Betty nodded, giving him a kiss. "Let's do something."
    "Like what?" He asked.
    Betty paused. "Let's go to pops."
    "Okay, I'll grab my jacket and we can go."
    "Juggie?"
    "Yeah?"
    She paused again. "Nevermind."
    "You can tell me anything, you know."
    "I know, " Betty sighed. "It's just..." She sat down on their bed. "Not a great day, that's all."
    "Why? What's going on?"
    "It's Jake's birthday, that's all."
    Jugheads eyes softened and he hugged her. "Betty, I'm sorry if I made you feel-"
    "No, you make me feel better, but it's still weird."
    Jughead nodded. "What if we get Eve tonight and watch some home videos of him."
    Betty smiled, kissing him. "That's an amazing idea."
   

    Eve got home that night and jumped into Jughead's arms. He hugged her tight and kissed the top of her head.
    "Did you have fun with Grandma and Grandpa?"
    "Yes, we played a game daddy made."
    "Really, what's that?"
    "Well, it's called Betty Monopoly."
    Betty chuckled. "He made it for our first date. The cards were questions about me or him and the spots around the board were places we like or things we did growing up."
    Jughead smiled. "That's really cool."
    "Sweetie, we want to watch some videos of daddy with you today, does that sound okay?" Betty asked.
    Eve nodded, resting her head on Jughead's shoulder. Betty put in a disc and took a deep breath, resting her hand on Jughead's leg. He rubbed her back and smiled over at her. The video started with Jake holding Eve in his arms in the hospital room.
    "Look, that's you," Jughead said and Eve looked up at the TV.
    "Daddy." She said and a tear fell from her eye.
    Jughead wiped it away and looked back up at the screen. You could hear Veronica's voice from behind the camera.
    "Say hello to the camera, Betty."
    Betty shoved her hand in front of the camera. "Stop, Ronnie. I look dishevelled."
    "You look beautiful," Jake said, giving Betty a kiss. He whispered something in her ear and she smiled at him.
    "He was telling me that he was proud of me." Betty sniffled and Jughead rubbed her shoulder gently.
    "She looks just like you, Jake," Archie said, passing Betty a pops bag and large bag of chocolate bark.
    She gave him a kiss on the cheek and the video ended. The next video started and Betty smiled. Eve wasn't there, she was sitting on the couch talking to Cheryl and Jake was whispering something behind the camera. Veronica walked in from the kitchen, music was playing and she was dancing a little bit.
    Betty chuckled. "I was telling Cheryl that I thought I was pregnant." She explained.
    Jake walked in and the music got a bit louder. It was Poker face by Lady Gaga. Jake sped in and lifted Betty off of the couch and threw her over his shoulder. She screamed and laughed, he held her legs as she crawled in between his and standing back on her feet in front of him. She stared into his eyes for a second before kissing him.
    Everyone groaned, a running joke in the friend group and started throwing snacks and pillows at them. Then the video stopped.
    Jughead looked over at Betty, who was smiling up at the screen with tears streaking her face.
