A week into work and I already loved it here, but I was cautious as hell, that's how it always was in the movies, be nice to the new guy at work, i know it, I'm telling you!

Well i expected them to hate me at first, considering how much of a busy body I was here and back in Virginia. I only really had one friend back home, Gina. Well she was as feisty as my efficiency.

So lately, with work and all, my stress level has gotten way taller than me, this job now being a promotion has really made it hard to settle, I can't even do housekeeping. Security also became an issue and I just needed someone to help around the house as well.

After another week of searching, luck found me or I got lucky rather, the first person who I had asked earlier, later had a recommendation for me.

"Hi, hello! Yes, this is him," I said into my phone, like I always did when I picked up a call.

"Oh yes, William, I think I found someone for you, he's hard working and very well efficient," Mr. Dayo thick voice soothed me over the phone, assuring me of the contact he now had.

"Nice," I smiled, "when can I meet him?" I asked

"Whenever you're ready son,"

"How about Saturday then?"

"That okay by me,"

"Yea, I'm be home and I also wouldn't be working on Saturday,"

"Saturday it is then,"

I thanked him and gave him my address to bring the person to my house on Saturday when I'd be home. Went on with the rest of the day into Friday, I got back from work, really hungry so I took out my phone and found a short video on how to make potatoes, apparently it's way more than just dropping them in water to boil.

I sat lost in my phone watching Netflix when I had started perceiving something burnt. Alarmed, I ran to the kitchen to find the pot smoking, "shit!" I muttered under my breath.

I quickly turned off the stove top, leaning backwards on the sink, I picked up a small cloth, carrying the hot pot into the sink, turned on the tap and hissed at the sizzling sound the pot made in contact with cold running water.

"Well that kisses dinner goodnight," I breathed out.

I turned off the tap, opened the refrigerator, took out a carton of milk and a bowl with a spoon. I searched for which cupboard my mom had kept the cereals, took out a pack of cocopops and went to my room. That's what I ate before I slept off, mentally making a note to not indulge in cooking again.

Waking up on Saturday was something I found very annoying, you see, I'm a very early person, maybe a little earlier than the early birds. Well just like I'd wake up early in the weekdays, I found it utterly impossible to sleep in on Saturdays and Sundays too.  By five I was up jogging around the neighborhood, till six and then started on the chores, someone's gotta keep this house in shape. I had just finished working out when i heard a knock on door.

Mr. Dayo has called the previous day he wouldn't be able to make it and would be sending one of the office security. The man who came with our office security looked scary.

He seemed older than me, someone who I guessed would be giving me a five year age gap. His face was scarred, he had a busted lip, a fresh cut just above his right eye brow and this made him look hot and sexy in a rugged way.

With his Hard Muscled body and blackened lips from cigarette (and maybe weed) he could pass for a gangsta or better still, a criminal.

He grinned at me politely.

But I'm sure from the look on my face, it was obvious i disapproved of him because the security from my office who brought him suddenly went into begging. How would i expect to order this man to wash my car and clean my house without getting beaten to a pulp? I'd thought to myself.

After much pleading, i ended up accepting him out of sentiments and Sympathy. No thanks to my soft hearted nature. Well anyone who had heard the story I was told would have a soft heart towards him.

"So uhm," I cleared my throat in an attempt to sound more authoritative, "what's your name?"

"It's Monday sir," he replied politely, his voice low and husky.

Sir? I laughed, did he just call me sir? "I'm William dayspring." I said extending my hand, he took my hand in his and shook it. His skin was soft, his palm a little rough, the muscles on his forearm slightly visible, something you could definitely tell weren't from gym sessions and protein bars.

"Mr.day" he said in his slightly Hispanic accent.

"What?" He started talking, explaining how he thought that would be a nice name to call me but I cut him short, "never mind, so when can you start?"

Again with his raspy voice, "if you don't mind, I could start right away."

His reply came off more as a pleading question, than a statement. I smiled, nodding, turning to the kitchen to get myself a glass of water.

I offered both of them along side two glasses of fresh orange juice. We sat for the next two hours discussing terms and conditions, well MY terms and conditions anyways alongside his pay and what exactly he'd be doing. The security officer who I learnt his name was Cain, like who the hell would wanna name his child after the murderous first sibling. Anyways Cain announced he was leaving, called Monday along with him to get his things from the car.

Cain left wishing me a Goodluck and briefing Monday again on his behavior, leaving myself and the new housekeeper waving him goodbye at the gate.
