chapter 47: Story time with Sans and Red

You'd fallen asleep with an arm wrapped around Red. The others had all passed out not long after him but you'd had to wash your face and take out the contacts. When you got back you see him rubbing his eyes sleepily. 
"Go back to sleep Red." You coo at him.
".....ya were gone……"
"Had to take the colour contacts out, they'd have damaged my eyes." He grumbles and yawns.
".....thought you'd left……" you go next to him and run your fingers over his skull. He sighs softly and closes his eyes. 
"I care about you, no need to worry about me leaving." He hums and soon is asleep again. He was laying on his side and you cuddle against him. You wrap your arm around him and fall asleep. 
You hear talking and then you feel Red shake softly as he laughs softly trying not to wake you up. You were still half asleep and cuddle closer to him. His laughter instantly stops. 
"....sweetheart?..." he asks softly. You yawn and open your eyes. Looking up you smile at him sleepily. You look over to see everyone grinning at you. You sit up and yawn.
"This suit isn't comfortable to sleep in…." You grumble then turn back to Red. "How are you doing?"
"....Bit better…." He says sheepishly. You hug him and bring his head to your shoulder. 
"I'm sorry for yesterday. I was just upset and scared for you." He hugs you again. 
"Sorry for worrying you."
"Its okay." You pull away from him and get serious. "I'm not letting you do that anymore though. You aren't allowed."
He flinched back slightly from you at that and starts sweating. "Yeah…. Sorry bout that….."
"Come on, let's go check those out." You pull at his shirt and all six of you crawl out of the fort. "Go sit on the bed." You go to the bathroom and grab your first aid kit and come back to see Edge unwrapping the bandages on Red's arm. You put a hand on Edge's shoulder and take his place. You gently take Red's hand and pull his arm towards you. Slowly you start cleaning the wounds then put antiseptic on them before bandaging them back up.
He smiles weakly at you and you smile back. Sans teleports back into your room, you handn't noticed he had left. "There we go, that's taken care of." He says.
"What's taken care of?" You ask in confusion. 
"This idiot cant hurt himself anymore. Not without getting something from the kitchen."
Red gapes at him. "The hell classic?!"
"Good." You say ignoring Red. "We'll keep it that way." Red glares at you.
"(Y/N)!" He yells at you.
"I'm not letting one of my best friends hurt himself." You meet Reds glare with a serious look. Then you see the look of surprise that goes across his face as your words sink in.
"W-what?..." he asks.
"Dream, did I stutter there?"
"Not that I could hear." Suddenly you hear Edge's phone start ringing.
"HELLO? AH, SHORTFELL." He says and you grin.
"HI BLACK!" You yell over your shoulder. 
"YES, SHE IS HERE. NO NO. MY IDIOT BROTHER ISN'T DOING WELL." Edge looks at you. "SHORTFELL SAYS HELLO." he chuckles slightly. "NO I WILL NOT STOP CALLING YOU THAT. BECAUSE I LIKE THE NAME. WELL IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT YOU CAN SUCK A DICK." You burst out laughing and lean on Red's knees. Hearing only one side of the conversation was funny. Edge suddenly flushes in embarrassment before leaving the room.
"See I told you they have a thing for each other." You say to Red. Nightmare laughs at that. "Oh, Sansy." You say and he scowls.
"Don't call me that." He says as he sits next to you.
You lean over and wrap your arm around his neck, trapping him. "What was the promise you and Red made to each other?" They both jumped as Dream and Nightmare watch.
"W-well…" Sans says softly. He looks away. "You see…. After what happened to you and your parents dad wouldn't let me see you….. he was scared that it might send you into a full fledged panic attack and at the time your heart wouldn't have been able to take it……. The day Clover took you home I tried to talk to you but you just ignored me……" he sighs softly. "I'd lost my best friend and had no idea why….." his voice was so pained too. "Instead of doing what Ink did with the hoping only to have it crushed I went the opposite way…… I lost all hope…… technically I do have depression like Red but its not half as bad…. It never fucked with my magic….." you reach over and grab Red's hand.
"We stayed friends throughout school though." Red says. "It wasnt often youd see us apart. "
"One day though we had a different class at the end of the day…. I had to go to the washroom when I got in there Though….." Sans sighs and looks at his hands. "The smell of magic was everywhere and I heard crying….. so I knocked on the door of the stall the other monster was in…… the crying stopped and Red stuck his head out….. I barged in only to see that he well…… he was doing that……. I started yelling at him though…… at that point I was a pretty big hypocrite….."
"Damn right ya were though, as ya said,  not half as bad as me."
"Well…. Let's just say that I had to show him mine….. tiny little scratches in comparison to the deep gashes for him…… we promised each other that day that we'd stop….. that was four years ago now….." Sans trails off and leans against you. You pull Red and the three of you hug.
"I'm glad you're both still here…. That all of us are still here….." you say softly. Dream pulls Nightmare over and you all share a group hug.
Your phone starts ringing and you recognize Inks ringtone. You let go of Sans and answer it and put it on speaker. "(Y/N)! Are you okay?! Theres so many of our friends gone!"
"We're fine." You tell him.
"DREAM ISNT HERE!" You hear Blue cry.
"We're all here." Dream says over your shoulder. 
"Did you guys spend the night?" Jazzy asks.
"Had to. Red wasnt doing well." Nightmare says and Red growls.
"How bad was he doing?" Rus asked.
"Too bad…." You say sadly.
"Did you two make up?" Buttercup says.
"You make it sound like we're dating or something." You say. Cherry laughs.
"Ya should hear how he talks bout ya!" He barks out and Red growls louder.
"Shut it Cherry!" You giggle at them.
"Yeah, things are good with us. But we should make sure someone's with him all the time." You say. He shoots you a hurt look but you give him a serious look.
"Don't tell me he tried something again and that's why you sent us all home." Abyss says. Everyone on your end stays silent  
"You guys….. you wanna come over after school?.... disney movie marathon?....." you say softly.
"Everyone would love that." Forté says.
You guys chat until you hear the bell through the phone. You let them go and you look at all of your friends before smiling softly at them. 
"Guys?" They all look at you and you smile even more at them. "I love you all. You're all amazing in your own way." The four skeletons in front of you blush like crazy. You rest your cheek in your hand and sigh. Nala jumps on your head and meows loudly. You giggle and get up. "I'm gonna get changed. You guys should too. Sans, Take Red with you." They all nod and disappear. You gather up your clothes, consisting of a yellow tube top, strapless bra, underwear and skinny jeans. You take a quick shower and get dressed. You Slide down the bannister to see Sans and Red dressed like normal there. Nala meows from the kitchen and you go in to feed her. Then you go and clean her litter box. You continue doing chores until the twins show up. 
Sans and Red were watching a space documentary when they showed up. Nala was curled up on Red's lap and you hear them talking. You turn to see Edge there.
"What's up Edge?"
"Would you like to talk?"
"Huh?" You look at him in confusion. 
"I know you weren't doing well yesterday either. I tried to talk to you early in the afternoon but there was no response. I didn't want to leave Red too long by himself though."
"Oh… I was reading. When I read I zone out completely to what's around me." You laugh nervously. 
"Are you alright though?"
"I'm fine Edge. I'll always be okay…." You say as you turn to put away the dishes. You hear him walk to you and put a hand on your shoulder. 
"Its okay not to be."
"I've had enough of not being alright."
"Things cant always be good. That's why you have friends to support you." You gather the plates in your hands as he talks. 
"Edge, look, I know you're trying to help but this isnt something I like talking about. It triggers panic and shit in me." You put the plates up then start with the utensil. You start gathering things a accidentally cut yourself on a knife that was sticking up. You yelp and drop everything to the floor. You immediately throw you hand under the tap and run water on it but Edge grabs it.
"Let me see." You let him inspect the cut as the others run in.
"What happened?" Nightmare asks.
"Putting shit away and didn't notice a knife in the holder the wrong way." 
They all sigh and Red grabs a first aid kit. There was a huge gash across your palm that was spitting blood. You hear the front door open.
"(Y/N)! Boys! I'm home!"
