Chapter 12

Mom finished putting all the food down, so she took a seat.

"Let's dig in, girls." Mom clasped her hands together before she started eating.

The room was silent because we all had food in our mouths, but I waited a little more to tell my mom.

"Miss Walker, this food is delicious! I'm definitely coming back for more next time!" Eve joked.

She laughed with my mom and I was happy.

"Eve, you can come annny time you want! You already know you're always welcome" Mom beamed.

It went silent for a moment, then I started talking.

"Mom, Eve and I have something we wanna say." I held Eve's hand under the table so she wouldn't get nervous.

"What is it, sweetie?" Mom asked as she put her fork down.

"Evelyn and I are dating." I announced.

Mom gasped but then smiled the biggest smile ever.

"Oh my! I'm so happy for you both! It's about time, Veronica!" She clapped.

"I thought you wouldn't accept us for a second." Eve sighed with relief.

"Thank you, Mom for accepting us." I thanked her.

"Of course, dear I will always be here for you. Ugh, I'm just so happy that you two are finally together after two years!"

Eve glanced at me confused and I nervously laughed.

"Miss Walker, what do you mean?" Eve asked.

"Veronica has been in love with you for two years and I couldn't wait until she finally told you the truth!"

"Ahh~ I understand now." Eve giggled to herself.

"Well, at least we're together now." She said.

"Oh come here you two!" Mom had her arms out for hug and we both came to her side to hug it out.

Later that day...

The annual fair was in town and Eve and I go every year together. Except this time, we're not going as friends, but as a couple. I was ecstatic!

Eugene dropped us off at the fair and said he'd pick us up at 10 which was in 4 hours. Just enough time to enjoy the carnival food and go on all the rides.

Eve and I held hands as we walked through the fair and looked around.

"What do you wanna do first, bae?" She cooed.

The pet name rang in my mind for a few seconds. Ugh, I'm a sucker for Evelyn.

"Let's go to the zipper!" I suggested with excitement.

Eve glanced at the ride and heard screams.

"Are you sure you wanna do that one first? It looks a little scary , don't you think?" Eve started shaking dramatically.

"Oh, please! Eve it's not that bad, besides you only live once so let's make the most of it!"

I dragged her all the way to the ride and we got in line at a good time. There weren't a lot of people ahead of us.

"You two—hop on."

We got in the first seat and the staff secured us in. I could see that Eve was visibly scared so I held her hand.

"After this, we better go on the merry go round." Eve snarled at me.

I chuckled at her cuteness and pinched her cheeks.

The ride started slowly, then it eventually sped up, up, and up. Eve would grip my hand tighter every time the ride went around, but nevertheless it was super fun.

Afterwards, I took Evelyn to the merry go round as promised and then we went on 2 different rollercoasters, a few spinning rides, and a boat ride. And of course we saved the best for last, the Ferris wheel.

We stopped to grab some cotton candy before hopping on the Ferris wheel.

Eve got us a giant half blueberry and half strawberry cotton candy. I ate a few bites as we walked to the Ferris wheel.

Once we got to the Ferris wheel, the line was short so we were able to get in immediately.

Eve hopped in first, and I went second. The staff closed the door for us and the ride finally started.

The Ferris wheel took us up higher ,and higher and it was perfect. As we ascended further and further from the ground, I couldn't help but admire Eve. I was so happy right now.

I was eating cotton candy with my girlfriend, on a Ferris wheel. What more could I ask for?

Then, the ride came to a stop once we reached the tippy top. I could see the entire fair from up here.

"The sky is so beautiful at night. I just wanna touch the stars." Evelyn said.

"Yeah, they do look beautiful. I wanna know how many are there exactly." I thought out loud.

As Eve keep looking up at the sky, I couldn't help but lean into her. She looked so kissable right now.

I grabbed her chin gently and made her look at me.

She turned and looked into my eyes. I got lost in her beautiful brown ones.

I leaned in even more and kissed her passionately. Our lips connected and sparks were flying in the air.

Little did we know, someone was recording us all along...
