rose

I know that'll never be me;
The girl you most loved;
The woman you wanted to have;
The smile pulling on your lips;
Whenever she comes out of it;
I know it's not for me;
But I love the sight of it;
It's like the sun in a cloudy sky;
A shot of adrenaline;
through a cardiac arrest;
An ember in the ashes;
A streak of color on white paper;
So even though I hurt;
I want you to continue;
Tell me how much you love her;
Tell me how much you care;
Maybe at the end of the day;
Someone will dare;
Talk about me the way;
You do with her and it would be fair;
Rose is untouchable;
I'm just disposable;
But remember me when all is fine;
The girl who loved you despite her flaws;
The immature little one who wanted space;
In your heart crowded with thorns;
Left over from when she left you forlorn.
