Once a man came to Nabi Musa(A.S) and said:" O Musa you say you are Kalimu Allah(One who talks to Allah) and you are Allah friend. I request you today when you talk to Him tell him I want to have knowledge of understanding animals ."

Musa asked:" What will you benefit when you learn what they talk? Be contented with the knowledge you were given by Allah'." But the man kept insisting.

So the day Musa talked to Allah, he requested Allah to give the man the knowledge of understanding animals and Allah(S.W) answered his request.

One day as the man went back home, he heard the hen and dog which he owns talking. The dog and hen were eating a piece of bread. The hen tells the dog:" Don't finish everything. I don't have teeth like you. You wait for bones and leave the bread for me am weaker than you." The man was enjoying listening.

The dog replied:" No. I haven't ate for days now."

The hen said:" Don't worry soon there will be a funeral here in our village. The donkey of our man will die and you will be given the meat." The man on hearing took the donkey to the market and sold him so that he dies to someone else and doesn't loss money.

The next day at his home, the dog said to the hen:" You see now how weak am getting because of hunger. Yesterday you lied to me. There is no donkey who died."

The hen said:" Our man took the donkey and sold him. But don't worry tomorrow the cow will die and you will get double food for you." The man heard again and took the cow to the market and sold him before he got a loss.

The next day, the dog was so hungry and almost going to die of hunger he said:" You hen are lying to me today am eating your food." The hen replied:" Don't worry tomorrow our man is going to die and people will come and cook so there will be a lot of bones for you."

The man was shocked and he knew the hen was saying the truth because the cow and donkey he predicted really did die. He ran back to Nabii Musa(A.s) and asked him to ask Allah to take out the knowledge of understanding animals.

The Prophet (P.B.U.H) said:" part of the perfection of ones Islam is his leaving that which does not concern him." 40hadith nawawi,12.

This story shows Allah (S.W) mercy to us. He has hidden some of our understandings for a purpose.

Indulging in what doesn't concern us will be detrimental to us in the hereafter and we are in this life for a short time so we should try our best to avoid things that will negatively affect us in the hereafter.
