Leigh stood from her car and sighed. She was new to teaching and had recently joined Waterloo Road. It was her first proper teaching job. She sighed.

Leigh took a deep breath and sighed. She walked over to the school and saw her mum. "Are you ready love?" Rachel asked.

"Yeah. I'm fine. Today is the merger?"

Rachel nodded and smiled. "Yes love. But don't worry about anything. You'll do okay."

Leigh said nothing. She sighed and walked inside. Leigh smiled when she saw Tom Clarkson. "Hello again," he said.

Leigh smiled at him. "Hey. It's good to see you again."

Tom looked at Leigh and smiled. He and Leigh had always been close. They had hooked up a couple of times but it had meant nothing to either of them. They had both agreed they would be better off as friends. "We better go to the assembly," Tom said as Leigh nodded.

Leigh sat in the assembly with Tom. She looked around at all of the students and sighed. She knew that it wasn't going to be easy. Leigh knew that there was two different school cultures coming together. Both staff and students.

Leigh looked up as Rachel stood on the stage as the door opened and a guy walked in. Leigh looked at him and smirked. She couldn't help but look at him and think about how attractive he was. Leigh knew who he was. He was the new executive head.

Leigh sighed to herself as the bell went. She stood up with Tom. "You're Leigh Mason?" Leigh heard someone say.

She turned to face Max Tyler. She smirked. "I am. And you're the executive head. Max right?" She asked as Max nodded. "I look forward to working with you," she said.

Max looked at her and smirked. "Likewise," Max said. He watched as Leigh walked off.

He could see that she was an inspiring teacher and he couldn't help but be attracted to her. But he knew Rachel Mason. And he knew she was the reason for the school failing and Max knew that Leigh was a way to get to Rachel.

Leigh stood in the staffroom and sighed. She had a tough few lessons because of the merger. Leigh looked up as Tom walked in. "You okay Clarky?" Leigh asked.

Tom looked at her and smiled. "I am. I'm just concerned about Helen. She can't handle a class. I'm going to have to sit in," Tom said.

Leigh smiled and nodded. "You're doing this heads of department thing and you're doing a great job. Trust me," she said as Tom looked at her and smiled.

Leigh looked up as Max walked in. He went over to her and smiled. "So what are you doing tonight?" He asked.

Leigh looked at him and smirked. "Why? Are you asking me out Mr Tyler?" Leigh asked.

Max chuckled and looked at her. "Maybe. What do you say?" He asked as he moved towards her.

Leigh shrugged and took a sip of her coffee. "Maybe," she said trying to play hard to get knowing she couldn't stop thinking about him.

Leigh walked into the office and frowned as she looked at Rachel. "What is it?" Leigh asked as she saw the look on her face.

Rachel sighed. "It's your father. I got a call. He's been killed. Megan is at the hospital," Rachel said.

Leigh paled at the mention of her father. But feared over what her little sister had been going through.
