Cedric was walking down the corridors, his two best friends, Mark Edward and Derek Roque (pronounced Rock), talking loudly and animatedly about what could happen to Cedric in two days time (The First Task) all the while, he was thinking about Hermione.

"Hey Cedric." an angelic voice said quietly, the trio immediately stopped walking and stared at the bushy-haired girl that was blushing wildly in front of them, "Er... I- I just wanted to say thank you for the flowers, how did you know lilac was my favorite color?" she asked, peeping at him through her eyelashes,

"Well... erm... You see..." Cedric stuttered, he couldn't tell the girl that he liked that he's been stalking!

"He's been stalking you. MARK AND DEREK OUT." Derek and Ian answered with identical goofy grins before dashing away while laughing madly, leaving a blushing Cedric and a wide eyed Hermione alone in the abandoned corridor.

"Don't believe them. They're idiots." Cedric said, Hermione nodded slowly, not knowing what to think, Cedric made a mental note to kill those two.

"Sure. Well, I'll see you around." she said with a heart-melting smile before turning around and walking away. Cedric watched her retreating figure longingly before turning around and looking for the idiots he called friends.

"RUN!" Mark yelled, pushing Derek as soon as he spotted Cedric marching angrily towards them,

"I'M GONNA KILL YOU!" the angry Hufflepuff cried as he chased the duo. He chased them across the empty grounds and through the deserted corridors while they were screaming like pigs being slaughtered. Mark and Derek had no other choice than to enter the Great Hall with Cedric hot on their tail,

"HELP US!!!!!!!" they yelled in unison, they spotted the perfect person to hide behind. They grinned at each other before bounding towards Hermione who was paying no heed to what was happening around her, apparently too engrossed in her book.

"HERMIONE!" they jumped behind her, catching her as she almost fell,

"Ian! Derek!" she said in surprise, she didn't expect them to do this. Seeing as they only met an hour ago and only had one conversation in which Hermione said nothing,

"Save us! Cedric's trying to kill us." they stage-whispered as a furious Cedric burst through the doors, everyone else in the hall was watching in amusement. The only thing that was keeping the professors from interrupting were the looks they were getting from the headmaster.

"EDWARD! ROQUE!" he boomed, the two cowered behind a shocked Hermione, Cedric's eyes scanned the entire hall and they landed on a specific Gryffindor that had one pair of hands on each of her shoulders.

"Oh Hermione. I didn't expect you to be here." he said trying to be casual, all the anger was gone from his face and Hermione stared at him incredulousy,

"It's lunch time, Cedric. Where else would I be?" she asked, inclining her head. The said Hufflepuff turned beet red and opened his mouth before closing it again. He turned around and walked away to avoid further embarassment. His peers however, burst out laughing.

"Poor old chum!" they said with identical grins, earning a slap on the backsde of the head from Hermione,

"You guys should stop being so mean to him." she said with a look worthy of Mrs. Weasley (not that thye knew who she was), but knowing the two idiots, they grinned,

"Don't worry 'bout it, Hermione!" the two hugged her sides kissed both her cheeks and ran after Cedric,

Hermione shook her head at the antics of her new found friends, completely missing the jealous look being thrown at her by most of the female population and the jealous yet determined look coming from Viktor Krum.
