if they are not regular intervals
small and sharp
then the occasions will wound
harsh and deep
the ties will cut -
detachment
herself will drown
in low self esteem
and the words,
if spoken,
will find a way to retrace their steps
her destruction will rush
and the dark will take over
she will avoid a sinister stab
upon anyone her aura snatches
without realising
the scalpel was always
straight through her bleeding heart.
