I don't want another forever
I want a "now"
a stable now that I can grasp and fall on
resting every strong bone within me
and have it support every muscle and might in me
be my now, not my forever
let us balance one and one -
not to make two ones, but to support the sum of two separate ones.
be my one.
I can't stand another short forever.
wrap your blood around my bones
comfort your heart upon my pillow
let me sleep with your worries;
do the same for me
and we can be now.
