I want to be a porcelain doll
with a still face
eyes painted wide
and smile painted red
I want rosy cheeks
and a completion of perfection
red curls running
spiralling
to a narrow end
elegant dresses
fitted to a feather waist
tiny, tiny hips
"I want to be a pretty porcelain doll"
she chanted.
