It's Not What You Think

INT. COTERIE - KITCHEN - MORNING

Mariana sits at the kitchen table, groaning miserably. Gael and Callie walk down the stairs from the roof, laughing about something. Callie puts her hand on Mariana's back, rubbing it lightly.

CALLIE
Hey, how'd you sleep last night?

Mariana rolls her eyes and groans, annoyed.

MARIANA
How do you think I slept?

Callie grits her teeth, looking over at Gael who just shrugs. Malika sleepily walks out of her loft, sitting down next to Mariana. She rubs her eyes and grumbles.

MALIKA
I'm gonna need something stronger than coffee after all that wine we drank last night.

Callie puts her hand on Malika's shoulder, giving it a light squeeze. The door to Davia's loft quickly opens, as Davia hurries out of her loft. She doesn't look up from her phone as she types an email, while at the same time, Dennis quickly walks into the kitchen. He's in his own head as suddenly he and Davia collide, bumping into each other. Davia's phone falls to the ground with a thud.

DAVIA
Shit!

Davia picks up her phone, and starts to walk again as Dennis goes in the same direction.

DENNIS
Sorry.

Dennis and Davia awkwardly look at one another. Alice, who's been listening to all of this from her loft door, busts out into the kitchen.

ALICE
Okay, this...

Alice gestures between all of them with her finger.

ALICE
...Is getting weirder by the second.

MARIANA
Huh?

Alice points at Malika.

ALICE
Malika and Isaac are fighting!!

MALIKA
Hey!! What did I say about—

Alice then points to Dennis and Davia.

ALICE
Dennis and Davia are fighting!!

Dennis and Davia look at each other. Dennis moves his finger between him and Davia.

DENNIS
We're just taking time—

Alice looks over at Callie and Gael, pointing her finger at them.

ALICE
These two are sleeping together!!

Callie and Gael's eyes go wide as they look at each other, then turn to everyone else who is staring at them. Gael puts his hands up in surrender as Callie shakes her head.

GAEL
Whoa!!

CALLIE
We're not—

Alice looks at Mariana.

ALICE
And your sleeping on the couch because you won't talk to Isabella so instead your just ignoring her!!

Mariana shoots her head up.

MARIANA
It's not my fault she lied about sleeping with Raj and screwed everything up!! She's the one who won't leave!!

CALLIE
Wait, she didn't sleep with Raj?

DAVIA
The confession was fake?

MALIKA
Oh thank god!!

Alice clenches her fists, getting annoyed. Kelly walks into the kitchen pouring herself a cup of coffee. Alice turns around and sticks her finger out at her.

ALICE
And you!!

Kelly's eyes go wide, putting her hands up in surrender.

KELLY
Whoa there, I just came up from the basement to get my coffee before I smoke my weed.
