Chapter 20: Shells

It's already 2 AM and we're both still wide awake. Nagyaya si Rafi na maglakad-lakad daw kami to chill and unwind at sakto namang hindi pa rin ako inaantok kasi a lot of things have been in my mind lately so a goodnight sleep is not that possible. Buti na lang Rafi is there to somehow make everything seem fine. She's my tiny ray of sunshine. I can't even believe I said that but whenever I'm with her I feel like everything is in it's perfect place. Weird. I know sinabi ko na I should avoid her but it's a hard job to be done since she's always there when I'm not feeling myself or whenever I need some boosting up. She's been like my cheerleader. Ngayon at ngayon lang kami nagkakilala at nagkasama but she's amazing. She makes me forget about the stress, about everything, even Paulette.

I can't say I'm cheating because Paulette even said earlier that she's not yet ready to put a label on what's going on between us and what's worst is her perception of me. I feel so bad upon knowing her thoughts about me. I like her but obviously, she does not feel the same way. And then Rafi came. Rafiella Georgina Bunzon happened. How will I not notice such amazing woman?

"So...tell me something that I don't know yet about you..." sabi ko habang naglalakad kami sa gilid ng beach

We're walking without any flipflops and the water is freaking cold.

"Hmmm. You basically don't know a lot of things about me aside from my real name and what I do in life, mister...." sabi niya and we both smiled

"Tell me, Viii..." sabi ko at namumulot na naman siya ng shells

"Well...I'm an only daughter. My Dad is a pastor and my Mom is an attorney. I grew up from a very God-fearing family and we always do bible studies at home so in case you have the time, you can drop by and worship with us..." sabi niya sabay lagay ng shells sa bulsa ko

This time ako lang kasi 'yung may bulsa kasi 'yung skirt na suot niya ngayon walang bulsa. In short, useless. HAHAHAHA. I can feel my pocket getting heavier already but this woman is so happy so hayaan na lang natin.

"Why did you choose to be a chemist?"  tanong ko ulit

"Kasi I love chemistry and when I was around 9 years old yata, memorize ko na lahat ng elements sa periodic table. Even the atomic mass, atomic number...." sabi niya pa and she looks so cute right now

Gusto ko kung paano nagsi-sway sway 'yung buhok niya dahil sa ihip ng hangin and how her skirt goes along with it. Bakit ba kasi nag-skirt 'tong babaeng 'to eh sobrang lamig naman.

"So you're like...genius? Albert Einstein prodigy, ganun?" tanong ko at tumawa lang siya

"Nope. I'm never genius but growing up I always like to be surrounded by books. I'm a bibliophile. I read the dictionary when I'm bored...." sambit niya and she keeps on impressing me

She's talking like wala lang sa kanya 'yung mga sinabi niya. Kung ibang tao 'yun baka nagyayabang na ngayon.

Wala ng ibang tanong pa ang gusto kong itanong kundi...

"Do you have a boyfriend?"

Ngumiti lang siya bago niya ako sinagot.

"Sa mukhang 'to, you think may magkakagusto sa 'kin?" usal niya

"Sa tingin mo wala? Are you even kidding me?" gulat kong tanong sa kanya

"Kung meron man, sino?...."

"Ako!..."

Parehong nanlaki ang mga mata namin sa sinabi ko. What the freak?!

"Nice joke..." sabi niya at naghanap pa ng mga shells

Napalunok ako ng sariling laway bago ko nakuhang makapagsalita ulit.

"What if I'm not kidding?" seryoso kong tanong sa kanya kaya natigilan siya sa paglalakad

"Then you must be drunk..." sabi niya at inirapan ako

"Don't give me that kind of attitude, Viii. Masama ako magalit..." binalaan ko na siya

"Masama din ako magalit kaya umayos ka..." umirap siya ulit kaya agad ko siyang nilapitan at sinunggaban 'yung mga labi niya

I brush my lips against hers and kiss her so hard. Parang may kuryenteng dumadaloy sa mga labi at sistema ko so I kiss her even harder and torridly.

"Mmmmm..." tinigasan at napatayo 'yung alaga ko when I heard her moan

Tinigil ko muna ang paghalik at pag-angkin sa mga labi niya kasi may mga iilan pang mga tao dito.

"Look who's moaning so hard..." ngisi ko sabay tuka ng labi niya

"You're such an asshole, Viii..." sabi niya sabay namula 'yung magkabilang pisngi

"Asshole na gusto mo..." sabi ko at napayakap siya sa 'kin

"I think I love you..." sabi niya

"Anong you think pa? Love mo talaga ako otherwise you won't let me kiss you..." sambit ko

"But don't worry. I love you too, Viii..." dagdag ko and then I kiss her again
