"So when was that?" Tina chuckled. She pointed at a picture of what she identified as Newt but he looked completely different : he was dressed in a black suit, unlike him. Apart from that he looked much younger. Only five, Tina guessed.
"That was the day my parents got married. Loads of people were invited to the wedding and I only wanted to get away from them so I hid in the Hippogriff stables. Unfortunately, my father bought mother a Hippogriff as a wedding gift, so they went to the stables before the ceremony started and saw me. You can guess what happened then... "
Tina laughed at this : it sounded so much like him. She looked back at the picture again, at Newt's shy but also adorable smile, hiding under his long hair. He looked a little funny with his old haircut.
Newt took out another picture, also of him but this time with a beautiful looking woman with red hair whom Tina recognized as Newt's mother.
They looked similar, and now she knew where he had his eyes from.
The picture- Newt pointed at something in the distance.
After a second the picture moved and an elegant looking creature marched in. It was greeted friendly by Newt with, now, a wide smile on his face.
The creature's face and feet looked like those of an eagle and it also had wings but the rest of its body looked like a horse.
The real Newt started smiling at the picture, then adding :"This is the day my mother got her first Hippogriff."
"It's beautiful. Were you close to your parents?" Tina asked.
"Excuse me?"
"Were you close to them?"
"I never really was. I always avoided human contact and it never really was different with my parents. But I liked them very much after all they've done for me although I always knew they liked Theseus better. But I can't blame them : I never really talked to them and just wasn't as caring as my brother was."
"I think that's not true," Tina said thoughtfully.
"What?"
"You're the most caring person I ever met and I don't think it could ever have been different," she said, blushing and avoiding his gaze.
"If you say so. But I think it isn't true," Newt replied, blushing too. They just weren't used to compliments.
Tina shook her head a little and then looked at another picture in the box.
They looked through all of the pictures, sometimes Newt would explain something, sometimes he just was to deeply in thoughts to comment anything.
Tina took a great liking of Newt's mother. Tina was reminded of her own mother, they had so much in common from what Tina could remember.
An hour later, it snowed even harder outside. Still, there were some pictures left.
"Do you want to go outside now?" Newt asked, setting down the box.
"We haven't finished yet," Tina protested.
"We can still look at them later."
Tina smirked at him :"Does great Newt Scamander, the famous author, himself want to go out."
"No, I just thought you wanted to," he defended himself, blushing, but knew it was not true.
He always loved winter and snow although most adults hated it.
Tina just laughed and said :"Fine, let's get ready."
Newt's face lit up and he nearly jumped off the couch.
"Somebody excited?" Tina said teasingly, slowly getting up.
Newt blushed again and Tina nodded understandingly.A few minutes later they were fully dressed and already told Jacob they'd go for a walk outside.
They walked out of the door and the cool winter air filled their nostrils.
And for the first time in months she felt completely happy again.
She felt free she didn't even realize she began running through the powder snow that already reached her ankles and began chasing after some snowflakes that were falling down from the sky.
Newt giggled at the sight, how she picked up some snow and threw it childishly into the air.
When she finally noticed what she was doing and that Newt was staring at her, the colour of her face changed into a deep red and not just because it was cold outside.
"It's fine," Newt assured, still chuckling but Tina didn't dare to move again and watched as Newt slowly came up to her.
When they stood just a few inches apart, she wondered what would happen next.
Was he probably going to...
And that moment he began tickling her, trying to make her less restrained.
She couldn't surpress a laughter as he did so. Newt tickled her neck and she didn't know how it happened but when she opened her eyes again, she felt herself, lieing on the cold ground, Newt on top of her, holding her in his arms.
She smirked at the deeply blushing man in front of her and then used his moment of shock for attacking back :
She started tickling him, too, so that she was lieing on top of him after a moment.
She held his hands to his sides, just to make sure he wouldn't start tickling her again.
Tina looked at him triumphantly, murmuring :"I think I won."
"That might be true," Newt admitted, trying to get himself up.
"I haven't finished with you yet," Tina said, gripping on him more tightly.
"Tina, it's freezing," Newt replied, again making an afford to pull himself up but she still didn't let go of him.
"Please," he added after a moment.
"Alright," Tina said, untangling herself from him and getting up.
Newt hasn't stood there for a second until he felt something cold hitting his hand.
And then he heard laughter and excactly knew what had happened.
He smiled at her and then picked up some snow himself, forming it to a snowglobe.
And with that the snowball fight began, both not being aware of Jacob watching them out of the kitchen with a sad smile on his face.Okay, so I hope you liked it as I'm not really good at describing pictures (you might have noticed yourself).
But anyway, thank you so much for supporting me!
