The sun was rising over the hot arid desert, rising over the defeat of PAMA, and the start of the town's new lives. Jesse, Petra, Lucas, Ivor, and Harper looked out over the freed people.

Since they've killed that maniacal pig man and left that dimension behind, they continued trying to get home, having just as much success as they were having before, which is frankly nothing. It all changed however, when they stumbled into a redstone portal, an old builder, and an out of control thinking machine.

It's been a day, PAMA is now defeated and gone, and the prospect of returning home has never been closer.

"I can't express how much I owe you all," Harper was saying. "I don't even know where I would be if you guys weren't here, just thank you all so much."

"Well, we're glad to help!" said Jesse. "After all, we're all trying to get home, and it probably would've taken a lot longer without your help."

"You are going to help us, right?" Petra asked enthusiastically, gesturing towards the lit redstone portal to the portal hallway next to them.

"Right, yeah!" Harper said. "You see, when me and the other old builders built the portal hallway, we made an Atlas, as to keep track of all the different worlds there were. With the Atlas, we can instantly locate any world you want!"

"And... you have this Atlas, right?" Lucas asked, looking excited.

"Actually... I don't." Harper said, looking shifty. There was a bit of silence.

"Hold on, what do you mean you don't have it!" Petra exclaimed angrily. "I thought you said you could help us!"

"Look," Harper said hurriedly, holding up her hands in a placating gesture. "I may not have it, but I know who does. The other old builders."

"Others?" the whole group said in near tandem. "Well then, where are they?" Ivor asked.

"They have a hideout in the portal hallway itself that can only be opened by someone who knows what they're doing." Harper said, then grinned. "And you happen to have me. I'll need that redstone heart, Jesse."

"Oh, alright." Jesse said, the mood of the group rising again. He took the heart out of his inventory, preparing to hand it to Harper.

WHUMP.

An invisible force suddenly rammed into Jesse, pinning him into the ground, and knocking the redstone heart out of his hands, rolling away from him.

"What the-" Petra exclaimed before suddenly getting a potted cactus plant thrown at her by someone invisible. "Arrrg!" she cried, in pain from the pricks lodged in her face that temporarily blinded her.

"Imagine getting taken down by a cactus," a very familiar voice called out. "Could not be me."

"What!" cried Jesse, too stunned to make sense of what was happening.

"What- what's happening, Jesse!" cried Harper, taking a step back and a paranoid look around.

"We-" Lucas stuttered. "We don't know, but it sure isn't good!" A bow and arrow appeared out of midair, and it fired at Lucas, pinning the edge of his jacket to the hot ground. Lucas tried to pull it free, but another two arrows pinned his sleeves too, immobilizing him. "Wh- Stupid arrows!" Lucas cried, trying his hardest to pull free, but failing.

"His voice..." Ivor muttered, shaking and slowing backing away. "But it can't be!"

"You thought I died, but you see, it was all part of the master plan," said that calm and bored voice, still pinning Jesse to the ground. An enchanted diamond sword appeared in the air, and hovered right above Jesse's head.

"How is he alive!" cried Lucas, now in full panic mode.

"How is who alive!" shouted Harper, frustrated. "Will anyone tell me what's going on!"

"I-it must've been some sort of potion! Fire resistance, maybe?" Ivor stuttered.

"Whatever it is, he threw a cactus at me!" Petra angrily exclaimed, who, having gotten all of the pricks out, was preparing to rush in.

"Uh, one more step, and this nerd dies." said the invisible man, gesturing with his sword towards Jesse. This froze Petra in her steps. "Now, I'd really better get going," the man said, while the redstone heart rose off of the ground and disappeared, presumably into his inventory.

"Noo!" hissed Jesse, helpless. The air above him seemed to ripple for a moment, before the effects of the invisibility potion wore off of the masked man. Everyone except for Harper drew a sharp breath in.

"So long, neerds," the man said, before leaping off of Jesse, and tossing a splash potion of slowness right onto everyone.

"Thhhhhiiiiiissss iiisss-" Ivor started to say, when the man toppled him over with a push.

"Good luck dealin' with that," he remarked flippantly, and jumped straight into the portal, leaving the slowed party behind, staring at him in despair.

T̵h̷a̵t̷ ̵w̵e̸n̷t̴ ̸w̸e̶l̵l̷,̵ said the blood god in Technoblade's head. Ever since that incident in which it forced him to jump into a fountain of lava (albeit with fire resistance), it's started explaining a lot more of its actions to him.

The careful groundwork of a plan has already been laid out, and all Techno has to do is to make sure it comes to fruition.

To insinuate that I could've messed up sounds like a personal attack, Techno bantered back.

G̸e̶t̵ ̸o̷v̶e̸r̶ ̸y̴o̷u̶r̶s̷e̸l̶f̴,̴ the entity replied. T̶h̷e̴ ̵s̵l̴o̸w̵n̶e̶s̵s̶ ̶i̸s̵ ̴w̵e̷a̷r̴i̸n̷g̸ ̶o̶f̶f̵ ̴s̷o̸o̷n̶,̷ ̵a̸n̸d̴ ̶w̴e̴ ̷h̸a̶v̶e̴ ̵s̸o̵m̷e̷w̷h̴e̵r̶e̵ ̸t̶o̷ ̶b̴e̸. R̶u̷b̸ ̸s̴o̴m̷e̴ ̵g̴o̷l̶d̴ ̵o̸n̶t̴o̸ ̸y̵o̶u̴r̴ ̵b̵o̵o̶t̵s̶ ̶s̵o̶ ̵t̵h̴e̸y̴ ̸c̶a̸n̴ ̷f̶o̷l̸l̴o̷w̴ ̵y̵o̶u̶.̸

Making it possible for them to follow me is so stupid. Techno grumpily thought, taking out a bar of gold. He rubbed the soft powdery rock on the bottom of his boots, and proceeded forward to where the blood god was urging him to go. The only difference is that this time, his footsteps left shimmery prints on the dark floor. Remind me why this is necessary again?

J̴u̶s̷t̶ ̶s̷h̸u̸t̷ ̸u̸p̴ ̴a̸n̸d̸ ̸k̸e̸e̷p̶ ̶w̵a̴l̵k̵i̵n̵g̶.̵ the deity jokingly replied. T̷h̸e̷r̷e̶ ̴h̶a̷s̶n̴'̶t̸ ̷b̶e̶e̶n̵ ̶e̶n̷o̸u̴g̶h̵ ̵b̶l̴o̵o̶d̸.

Techno hmm'ed and stopped in front of the portal that the blood god was telling him to go to, preparing to jump in.

"Can't say I disagree." he replied, the smirk under his mask gaining a malicious edge.
