It was midnight after Alex left, I had felt uneasy so I got up to get a glass of water . I had gotten back in back and felt the same way so I sat up and then I started coughing, I coughed into my arm about four times before I pressed my emergency alarm.
Mark came running in along with Nissan and the nurse, the cough got stronger and even more stronger when my oxygen tube got entangled in my arm
"Breathe Lex" I heard Mark say, by now my oxygen tube had been disconnected from my nose because I had been moving too much and I mistakenly detached it
Mark fixed it back and then told Nissam to call the ambulance, the doctor had gone to his family today and he instructed in case of emergencies to call the hospital
"They're on their way" I heard Nissan say, she felt distant even though she stood next to Mark
"Lex, open your eyes" I heard Mark say, his voice was distant also. My breathing had slowed down.
"Lexis" I heard him call and I just couldnt hear him again, it was all black and in darkness, I wasn't fighting again. It felt peaceful and calm.

The room felt blurry again, I could see someone with a white shirt but the face wasnt clear, I tried to open my eyes but the light stung, so I shut them back.
"He's awake" the person mentioned and I saw three more figures
"My baby boy" the next person said, it sounded so familiar but I couldn't make out the voices
"Ah Ma is here, don't worry baby" Granny said slowly rubbing my temple and thats when I forced my eyes open
Mom, Ah Ma and Lisa were all standing by my bedside
I honestly hate it when Ah Ma has to travel most especially when has to do with my health.
I tried to sit up and my mom told me to lay back
"Baby, you need to rest" she said she Lisa chuckled.
The doctor came in later to check uo on me, she mentioned that I had taken something I was allergic to, she also made sure to take out time to catch up with my mom especially since they were high school friends
"Baby I'd be back, I need to drop Ah Ma off at the hotel, she's been up all day" mom said and I nodded
"Baby shall I carry your feet for you?" Lisa mimicked my mom and shook my head smiling
"I thought I almost lost you" she said wiping her eyes with the back of her hand
"Say it Lisa" I said even though I was tired and speaking means using the energy I have left. She took one more glance at me before looking away
"Everytime I get a call at midnight from Nissan, it makes me so scared. Please don't eat anything you're allergic to again" she said before smiling and reaching out to peck my temple
"What are you doing?" We heard Alex say
"Its not what you think" Lisa said almost immediately. She then shifted her gaze from Lisa to me
"Well then explain what you were doing, he was asleep and-" sje was about to continue when I interrupted
"I'm awake" I said raising my left hand to reach out to her
Lisa smiled at the both of us before picking her bag to leave the room. I coukd tell she felt embarrassed but I knew she didn't mean any harm.
"Baby I'm sorry, I should have checked the menu for the restaurant beforehand, Astrid recommended the place and I felt it would be great if we tried it out and-" she ranted before I placed my hand over her lips shushing her
"Its okay, I'm fine" I said tired
She leaned in to peck my lips and I could smell something awful on her
"Are you high?" I asked groaning
"No, I'm clean and you know it" she said I wasn't convinced but I nodded
"Awwww love birds" mom said as she stepped in to the room
"I was able to make some soup for you, Ah Ma says this will give you strength" she stated laying out the containers from the bag her assistant was carrying on th6r tray table.
"So when are you getting married?" She asked and Alex looked at me
"What?, you dont want to get married?" She asked Alex seeing her reaction
"No its not that" she said smiling
My Mom stepped out to talk with her assistant
"So marriage huh?" Alex said giving me the spoon
"Yeah I guess" I replied not looking at her, while feeding myself some soup
"So when did you planned telling me you were looking towards marriage?" She said, I could tell her mood was brightened by the information.
"Alex, lets slow the roll, marriage will come in its time, okay?" I said and she nodded grinning from ear to ear
These are the times I wish my mom would discuss something with me before saying it with my friends.
"Darling, Doctor Minty says you can leave later today" she said caressing my head. I could tell she was happy and genuinely glad Mark called her, she always wanted an excuse to leave Singapore and this was perfect, even if it was for a few days.
