chapter 31

zoe's POV

today was a big day for us 

we were playing against our rival who we could never beat but today is our day we wont stand down from a fight and this game is ours

" alright guys today is our last game before the semi-finals and we cant afford to lose to them again " coach said and we all agreed " sadly we cant have zoe on the field because of unplanned circumstances " he looked at me sadly and i sight " coach im not even showing yet i can still play " " hell no not only do you get tackled on the field but damien would have our heads if anything happened to you and that baby we cant afford to lose that one like we lost the first one " zack said glaring at me " fine then ill be the kicker " " sorry winchester but youre on the sidelines with me your the coach also remember so just take it easy and let the team do their part " coach said and i sigh " fine ill coach but remember just like any other game theres a conductor a king and an emperor the quarterback is the emperor he reigns the field and sets the plays the conductor is the linebacker who analyzes his next move and the king is the receiver because he takes orders from the emperor  and the rest of the team are the knights protecting the emperor and making space for the conductor and the king remember that as you play if the emperor falls redemption is always behind it just keep moving and dont look back make sure to read your opponent before they make the first move and dont wait too long or youll be shut down thats a mistake ive noticed we've been making in the past years that ive been here and in the games we've previously played now lets take everything we've learned and put it into action and win this final and go to the fucking semi-finals " i said and we all cheered and went out the field 

let the games begin

we were ahead in the first twenty minutes but they turned the tables on us and were now 28 - 10 and they kept blocking us and they were now dominating even more in the second half the team was losing hope but i kept a close eye and noticed something they switched roles 

its not over yet 

theyve got something up their sleeve

" its not over yet " i yelled and we had twenty minutes on the clock and anything can happen in those last minutes they switched roles like i told them too a few weeks ago and we practiced it you see zack is the emperor he sets the plays jake is the conductor he sets the plays and james is the king he follows the kings orders and the knight protect the king and the emperor now the roles have switched jake was now the emperor zack was the conductor and james became a knight while one of the knights became the king and they will rotate after every play until zack becomes the emperor again

i hope this works

the first play went through and we made a touchdown and field goal which brought us to 28 to 17 and it kept going up after switching each play and it was one hell of a game with one minute left we made another touchdown and free kick which made us ten points ahead and the game ended 28-38 with us winning the game 

not gonna lie our school was going crazy with each play and i couldnt feel more proud of my boys

they ran up to me " so what do you think " jake asked and i decided to look unimpressed " you couldve made different plays throughout the game but decided until the end good job in reading your opponents next move and switching roles im proud of you boys " i said with a grin and the all looked relieved and lunged at me cheering " we couldnt have done it without you coach " jake said and i chuckled " so your coach is a girl huh dont look like much of a coach to me what are you a high school student shouldnt you be in the stands like everyone else this isnt a place for little girls " the coach of the other team said laughing " i wouldnt exactly said shes the official coach but that little girl youre bad mouthing is the co-captain of this team and the one who organized those plays that weve been doing in every game we've been playing so far " jake said glaring at them " and i would appreciate it if you didnt bad mouth my sister unless you wanna live to see tomorrow i would shut the fuck up and accept defeat you beat us three years in a row but not this time so pack your shit and - " " can it winchester " coach said showing up and the other team looked shocked " wait did you just say winchester as an the winchester twins who won the little league championships at just the age of 10 " the coach said in shock and i froze " how do you know about that " i asked him with a blank face " well you were pretty famous back then and still are to this day you two couldve made it to the big leagues but turned them down " i sigh " we had a reason to decline which is none of your business now the game is over and its time for you to go and for me to rest " i said and walked back to the locker room with the boys " you knew about this already didnt you coach " i asked not looking his way and he sigh " yes i did my fair of research too that was quite an injury you suffered " i chuckled " cant be the winchester duo without both winchesters now can we " zack said wrapping his arm around my shoulder " true that brother " and the whole team laughed not even caring about what we just discussed as if it didnt phase them that my brother and i made it to the big leagues but turned them down

i have one hell of a team thats for sure  

we never back down from a fight

we attack with full force and make sure our opponents know who we are

we are warriors and we fight for what we want

we are the warriors of eastwood high and we'll make sure everyone remembers our name

our previous teammates fought hard and became legends now its our turn to rise and become legends too highschool or college it doesnt matter we will make it until everyone knows our name and who we are once again
