Transformers Bayverse:
To keep in mind tie-in comics and the movieverse in finding out just what Optimus Prime's origin actually is, because the two do not go together at all, I've come up with this.
Quintessa is a descendent of Quintus Prime, and she, in turn, created Optimus with an unknown bot. Optimus was taken from her by his sire, and brought to Cybertron, where the sire died and Optimus grew up an orphan and an energon scavenger, never knowing his heritage. He, like Megatron, was taken in by Sentinel Prime, and, while he knew of his heritage as a Prime, he lived blissfully unaware of his true origins until the Last Knight.
