"We have thirty minutes!" Julie comes barreling into the garage in full panic mode. "Flynn is outside! I repeat, Flynn is outside!"

Both excitement and panic fills the studio, and Luke and Reggie grab their instruments, Alex situating himself behind his drum set. I, on the other hand, have to wait until Julie ditches the keyboard to do anything, unless the boys suddenly decide they want a nice acoustic country album.

We run through it a couple more times despite us insisting it's already beyond perfect, and Julie leads Flynn into the garage. The four of us giggle in anticipation, unable to sit still with the fact that we might have someone else to talk to. Flynn being a girl, I'm more than excited.

After practically forcing Flynn into a chair, Julie slides onto the bench behind her keyboard, taking a deep breath before she begins to sing.

"If I leave you on a bad note
Leave you on a sad note
Guess that means I'm buying lunch that day.
I know all your secrets
You know all my deep-dish
Guess that means some things they never
They never change.
We both know what I, what I
What I mean.
When I look at you it's like I'm looking at me!"

Instantly, Julie gets up, plucking out her mic, and the four of us appear, Flynn completely frozen in her chair. We all share satisfied smiles and continue to play like Julie's traveling concert in a can.

"My life, my life would be real low, zero, flying solo.
My life, my life would be real low, zero, flying solo without you.
Hey, yeah, yeah!
Hey, yeah, yeah!
My life, my life would be real low, zero, flying solo without you!"

"Yeah, you know who I'm likin' way before I liked them, duh
'Cause you liked them first
And if somebody hurts you, I'm gonna get hurt too.
That's just how we work, yeah, that's just how we work.
It'll never change.
We both know what I, what I
What I mean.
When I look at you it's like I'm looking at me!"

"My life, my life would be real low, zero, flying solo.
My life, my life would be real low, zero, flying solo without you.
Hey, yeah, yeah!
Hey, yeah, yeah!
My life, my life would be real low, zero, flying solo without you!"

Julie takes Flynn on a tour, and she slowly gets into it with us, even sticking her hand through Reggie as if the poofing part isn't enough evidence to prove we're ghosts. He chuckles and smiles, and I almost miss a key, completely forgetting what I'm doing.

"They're ghosts!" Flynn shouts.

"We prefer musician spirits," Alex corrects, and I stifle a laugh.

"Julie, so does this mean you're joining our band?" Luke asks ever-so-persistently.

Flynn stalks toward him, unimpressed. "Actually, I think you're joining her band." We all agree humorously, and Julie accepts, leaning on her best friend's shoulder.

"My life, my life would be real low, zero, flying solo.
My life, my life would be real low, zero, flying solo without you.
Hey, yeah, yeah, yeah!
Hey, yeah, yeah!
My life, my life would be real low, zero, flying solo without you!
You!"

The next day, Luke, Reggie, and I gather in the studio, watching Julie water her plants as we hover over the grand piano.

"We're playing a school dance? Sweet!" Reggie whoops, holding the flier Flynn made for us.

"It's not exactly the Strip," Luke cringes, and I scoff.

"And you're not exactly alive, so maybe you should be happy we have our first gig."

Julie chuckles and waters her endless sea of cacti, ferns, and flowers, "I wasn't in love with the idea at first either, but it could be a great way for us to build a following, right?"
