*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP* *BE-* Hawks punched the alarm clock, causing it to tumble to the ground. It was 5 am. "Morning to you too." Hawks grumbled. He looked up at the bedside table, making sure the photo of him and his friend hadn't fallen over as well. He smiled at it, remembering his childhood, when he and his friend Touya would run around all day and laugh and play until it was too dark to see. He remembered the day Touya suddenly disappeared. It wasn't in the news, it's like he was erased from existence. Hawks missed him dearly and had spent years looking for Touya, but had no luck. A wave of loneliness interrupted his thoughts, bringing with it a sudden bout of coughing that shook his body violently. Hawks shut his eyes as pain raked through his chest and throat. He opened his eyes after the pain subsided and saw dots of blood spattered across some of the blue petals. That's not good. Hawks looked at it for a moment, unsure of how to feel. He got up after a second, went to the kitchen, and brought back a towel to clean it up. Afterwards, he got dressed and left for work.
