"HAJI!" Hotaru growled as she entered the gym, feet skidding across the floor from her sudden pause in running. "Help!"

He immediately dropped the volleyball in his hand and walked over to Hotaru who was sweating after running two feet. "What?"

Instead explaining like a proper human being, she began to make these weird growling noises while gesticulating her arms to tell the story.

Iwaizumi stared at her with a flat look before glancing at Kunimi. "Translation?"

"Lover boy—Bitch boy* has been blackmailing Tsukishima with a picture of Hotaru half naked."

"Half naked?!" A ring of shouts erupted in the gym as they all began to race towards Hotaru, grabbing her by the shoulders. "Were you sending nudes to some guy?!?"

"At least send them to me first!" Oikawa shouted, getting a hard slap in the head from Iwaizumi who grunted loudly. "I WAS KIDDING!"

"I didn't send nudes to anyone." Hotaru huffed with her arms crossed over her chest. Everyone sighed with relief, thankful they'd never have to see a picture like that in their lives. "But I don't know what picture he's using to blackmail Kei."

"Damn, what a shitbag." Matsukawa said with a chuckle as he draped an arm around Hotaru's shoulders. "It's alright. We'll handle it."

"What- No-"

Hanamaki appeared on the other side of her, pressing his finger to her lips. "Shhhh. We'll handle it."

"No, but-"

"Ah, ah, ah." Oikawa shook his head, shooting her a small grin that was a bit pointed. "We'll handle it."

"Anyway, Karasuno's coming in, so hurry up." Iwaizumi said as he ruffled her hair, walking off to finish warming up for the practice match that was about to happen.

The gym doors opened to reveal the team that was headed to nationals this year. The friendship between Hotaru and all the teams made this practice match possible.

"It's Tsukishima..." Yahaba pointed out as he stood on the sidelines with Hotaru who finally looked up. Her eyes fell upon the tall blond who walked beside Yamaguchi and Hinata. His eyes were downcast, purposely avoiding Hotaru's that were piercing through his skin.

"Is Kishi-kun in here?" Hotaru asked quietly, forcing Yahaba to casually glance around the gym that had a few students in it.

"No."

Hotaru nodded, "Then I'll be right back. Cover for me if he ever shows up." Wasting no time, Hotaru made her way over to Karasuno's side of the court with her clipboard in hand. "Hi, guys! It's nice to see you guys again."

Tsukishima glanced at her for a moment, noticing how her eyes would constantly flicker over to him, which forced him to look away.

"I came to talk to Kei." Hotaru pointed out quietly, covering the bottom half of her face with her clipboard. "I'll be quick, I promise."

Everyone quickly shuffled away to give them space. Tsukishima tried to escape but was stopped by Hotaru who grabbed him by his jersey.

"Don't run away from me." She frowned, holding him in place as he paused. Swallowing thickly, she inhaled deeply and faced him head on. "The old me would've just hid and cried until I was satisfied."

Tugging him so he'd face her, she flashed him a determined look, "But I won't run and hide this time. I'm here to stay. Right here at your side."

It took all his might to hold back a look of surprise that would've washed over his face if he didn't plaster a blank look on his features.

"But what if I don't want you at my side?" He questioned with raised brows, forcing a scornful smirk onto his lips.

"Then...then I'll just be your nuisance! I'm not leaving! You're stuck with me." She huffed childishly. "I'm your leech now."

After a moment of hesitation, he rolled his eyes and shook her arm off of his jersey. "I don't want you at my side. I'd rather be by myself."

"Hmph." Hotaru smacked him in his back harder than she probably needed to. "I don't believe you. I need some proof."

"What?"

"Proof. I want proof that you don't like me." Hotaru grumbled, pointing a finger at him. Her attitude faltered for a moment, "You can't just drop me like this, so I'm gonna stay at your side no matter what! You got that?!"

Hearing Yahaba call out to her that the match was gonna begin, she quickly snapped back to reality. "Oh!" She took a step backwards, "I'll stay by your side, but I gotta go right now. But I'll be back once the match is over!"

Tsukishima shot her a cold look upon noticing a familiar face enter the gym. "Don't. I don't want to see you again. You're annoying."

As the boy began to walk away, he heard her quiet voice speak up once more. "You...You asked me if I still trusted you a while ago."

The text from a few months ago popped into his head.

tsukishima | now
you still trust me, right?

"I was unsure at the time because I really thought you changed but now," He glanced back, seeing that oh so familiar smile of hers. Her mouth stretched into a bright grin that made her rosy cheeks puff up a bit. "I trust you with my whole heart."

She pointed a finger at him, "So, do what you need to do and come back to me, alright?"

The words repeated in his mind as he stood frozen, processing what she had said. He hated how she knew exactly how to get to him.

"Yeah." And with that, he walked off to begin the match against Aoba Johsai.

Hotaru returned to her side of the court to be greeted by a smug yet worried Yahaba. "What?"

"That was basically a confession." Yahaba poked fun at the female who flushed red, unaware of her words that were on the brim of a confession. "But bad news is that he's been watching."

Both of them glanced up at the second floor level where a bunch students stood to watch the game. Her breath got caught in her throat when she saw Kishi standing there, looking more furious than anyone could guess.

Hotaru's first thought was, I'm about to beat this bitch up. (lol)
