The team watched as the good chuck of the league just gets zapped out of existence, including, Robin's, Spirit's, Superboy's, and Ms. Martian's mentors.
Zatara appears on the screen after they finish watching. "Tornado did you--"
"Yes, Zatara, we saw." Red Tornado told him. "Celestial defenses have failed. Initiate all terrestrial measures."
"Affirmative. See you in the field." Zatara told him.
"I must join the league." Red turns to them. "We will protect the planet at all costs. But should we fail the responsibility falls to you."
"We stand ready," Aqualad tells him.

The team watches the feeds of the multiple league units fighting off these alien invaders, as one by one the leaguers get vaporized by the alien ships. The last one fighting is Red Tornado.
"Red Tornado to cave. I fear I am all that remains of the league." Tornado radioed into the cave.
"RT." Robin began by he was cut off by Red Tornado getting hit.
"We are earth's heroes now," Aqualad said.
"So what are we waiting for, a theme song?" Superboy questioned.
"A strategy," Aqualad told him.
"Though a theme song would be nice, would take away from the anxiety building up with inside," Spirit said.
"Earth's weapons are ineffective. And it has been made tragically clear a direct attack will not succeed." Aqualad started speaking.
"Checking satellite imagery." Robin looked down at his wrist computer. And the holo map appeared in front of them with a red spot. " Here's where the aliens are now."
"This one gets lost?" Superboy points at a single red dot on the globe.
"That's Superman's fortress of solitude," Robin tells him.
"Superman has a fortress of solitude?" Superboy questions.
"Its power source must have attracted the aliens' attention," Robin tells them. "At least enough to send a scout ship to investigate."
"Must be some fortress," Superboy says, turns with a sadden expression.
"Connor."
"No, it's okay," Superboy assures Ms. Martian. "I guess there's a lot about Superman I'll never know. Uh, you know, now"
"We will target this lone ship," Aqualad tells him.
"Yeah, break it down, build more, hit those ugly aliens with their own mojo, ow!" Kid Flash started speaking but Artemis hit with her elbow.
