The water changed from scalding hot, to lukewarm to cold, and that was when I turned the shower off, wondering what was wrong with the blasted thing.

I moved my hands till I found the shower door pushing it open, taking a good hard looking at the moving floor before I stepped out reaching for the towel.

I shivered as I wrapped y body in the towel as I shuffled towards my clothes, I decided that shuffling was probably better than tripping over and having no one to help me.

I leaned against the wall for a bit, closing my eyes, I was so tired I could have fallen asleep standing here. But some stupid conscious at the back of my head was telling me to put my clothes on and go to bed, where the danger of tripping over and breaking my tooth wasn't going happen again.

I quickly dried myself, chucking on the pyjamas and opening the door, taking a step forward just before I realised that there was a black void when I opened the door.

I took a step back in so I didn't fall into the black void and looked up, and realised it wasn't a black void but Gabriel, and his dark coloured shirt. He had his hand risen, his hand in a fist, was he going to punch me?

Or was he knocking the door?

"What are you doing?" I asked, confused, trying to read the expression on his face.

"I was going to knock, you know you've been in there for an hour?"

"Is that it?" I asked, I ducked under his risen arm, which might have been a bad mistake because the world spun violently but at least I didn't trip over, and started walking towards the bed.

"Your pyjamas are back to front,"

"That's alright, I still look hot," I advised him. If anything the ugly buttons were now hidden. I jumped onto the soft mattress, laying down with my legs hanging off the bed.

I could see Gabriel turning lights and other things off and closing doors as he walked towards me, and then made a beeline for the chair next to the bed. What was he doing sitting there?

I turned my head to look at him, and he stared at me back, "What are you doing?"

"I'm watching you."

"That's really creepy," I said, leaning up on one of my arms as I turned to look at him, "My boss is a bloody creep."

"The doctor said I had to watch you through the night, in case you grind your teeth, or at least till the anaesthetic wears off.

Judging by the blurred look on his face, he was being serious, and that was weird. Surely Gabriel the great wasn't going to sit here and waste his time watching me, what about his strict schedule? This was already past the baby's bed time, he was going to be cranky tomorrow.

"I'll be alright," I advised as I laid back down, "Where's my phone?"

Gabriel's hand appeared before my face, like magic, holding my phone. Perhaps he wasn't Gabriel the Great, perhaps he was my little genie, Gabriel the Genie. I wondered if he was going to bring me a snack just as quickly.

"Your phone has been ringing non stop for the last hour."

Oh, I squinted my eyes, trying to make out the name on my phone.

"Your boyfriend, Kyle," he said, hearing me mutter something about not being able to see.

"Who?" I asked confused.

"Your...boyfriend? Isn't that his name."

"Ex boyfriend or current boyfriend?" I asked confused, was his name Kyle? Or was it Kevin, I did remember dating a Kevin, it wasn't that pleasant.
