As Steven was sitting on the couch the next day, Pearl cautiously approached him. He looked up and softly smiled at her. "Hey Pearl. What's up? You look upset." And he was right. She was upset

Pearl frowned and sighed. "Steven, there's something I need to tell you." She sat next to him on the couch. "Remember how you said that you may never know your mother?"

Steven smiled wide and gasped. "You know my real mother?!" His eyes lit up with glee

Pearl slightly nodded. She wasn't sure how to put it. So she jumped right to it. "Steven, your mother was Pink Diamond. I'm so sorry."

He thought for a moment. Trying to take it all in. Then, everything snapped. A look of realization hit his face. Then he scowled. Steven remembered everything. "Oh you did not!"

"Steven I swear, I wasn't trying to hurt you-" He cut her off

"Why would you lie to me?! You promised you would always be honest with me! Now you hid away my memories?!" He stomped towards her

Pearl put her hands up in defense. "I'm sorry! I just wanted to see you happy again!"

The boy clenched his fists. "No, you just wanted that naive little boy again. Well I'm not that kid anymore! So just drop it!!" He walked to his room and slammed the door behind him

Pearl sighed and sat on the couch. She rubbed her eyes with her palms. After all that, she suddenly felt exhausted. She couldn't think

A moment later, Amethyst walked in through the front door. "Dude what happened? I heard screaming." She raised an eyebrow

"I told Steven everything. I think he hates me now." She put her hands over her eyes

Amethyst sighed. "Pearl, he doesn't hate you. Give him time."

Pearl sighed once more. "You're right. Thanks Amethyst."

She shrugged. "That's what friends are for."

Pearl smiled and decided to head to her room in the Temple. To be honest, she hasn't really been in there in a while. Not in a couple years to be exact. She imagined it would be quite dirty

To her surprise, it wasn't that bad. A few loose items here or there but nothing major. She did some light dancing to clear her head

Then later that night, she came back out to see if anyone was around. The coast was clear. She crept over to the couch and layed on her back

Pearl stared up at the vacant ceiling and quietly drifted asleep. Wondering if her boy would ever forgive her
