Episode 1

Seraphina's POV

"No..." I cried. "He's gone. They took him."

Arlo rose up from the ground, blood oozing from his mouth. "Dammit. We couldn't do a thing. Seraphina, I'm so sorry."

"I-...what will I do without him? John? They crushed through your barrier just like that, Arlo. And they used a syringe on John that made him immediately pass out. What if he becomes a cripple again? It will be all my fault-!"

Arlo grabbed my arm.

"Seraphina, I get that you're upset right now, but there's nothing we can do. Ember left. We've been defeated. They took John. Let's report this to the headmaster first, alright?"

I paused for a moment. "Okay" is all I said.

John...please be okay. We're coming for you, so hang on a little longer! Please!

~~~The Next Day~~~

"I see. That's quite the dilemma." Headmaster Vaguhn said.

"We don't know anything about the location or what they're doing to him right now. But we can assure not anything good." Arlo replied.

"Please, Arlo. Don't say that." I choked, putting a hand to my mouth in disgust.

"Right. Sorry."

"Thank you for reporting this directly to me. John is the strongest in our school and I know how worried you are, Seraphina. It's quite alarming that someone that strong has been taken down with a single object. I'm also worried if Ember will start to target other students in Wellston and near the region as well." Vaguhn explained.

"You are dismissed."

Arlo and I leave the headmaster's office. We met Elaine, who was sitting outside the office and listening to our conversation. Well, she was one of the people who witnessed our incident last night after all.

"Ah! Arlo, Seraphina!"

"I don't care if Vaguhn wants us to stay out of Ember's business. John is one of us and he needs our help now." I told Arlo.

"Seraphina, you're overreacting. John is very strong. Remember, he's someone who has broke into my barrier over and over again."

I turned to Arlo. "Oh, your ability again? Remi's brother and I could also break that weakass shield of yours over and over again too. Yet he's dead and I was abilityless for over a year! What do you call that for your 'strong' barrier?"

I quickly put my hands over my mouth. Shit. I went too far.

"How dare you-!? You don't know anything-!" I could feel the anger in Arlo's piercing blue eyes.

"W-Wait! Stop!" Elaine separated us. "Guys, this is no time for fighting! I know you're both upset over John, but we'll try our best to get him together! So please, calm down!"

Arlo turned this head to the side. "Tch!"

"I guess he is one of us. He is an important asset to the hierarchy after all." Arlo admitted.

"And it all comes back to the hierarchy. Figures you would've actually cared about him. John was right. You are really Asslo." I scoffed.

We both turned our heads to each other. Frowning at each other. And despising everything about each other.

"G-guys, please...!!"
